I'm out for both games this week. Who's in for Wednesday? D-Mill, Slings, Klink, Jonno, Rob, Nick?

I'm back on board for this week.
Team Dunk 2 suffered their second defeat of the season tonight. Going down by 9 points, 45-36, the lads let themselves down by allowing TD1 a 14-2 run at the start of the 3rd and not being able to compensate afterwards. In the end, the TD2 boys fell apart but still managed to keep the scoreline from getting into a double digit lead.
Call of the night would have to goto Cam for earning himself a truely awe-inspiring tech foul for "acting".

Poor form to most of your team (not you) for playing the game in such a terrible spirit. I'm not going to point the finger but was disgusted with certain players behavoiur during and particularly post game and think those players should have a look at themselves.
We're all mates in the end and it's a game of B grade basketball for christ sakes, we're not playing for sheep stations.
I agree though, having a foul called and then having a tech given for acting on that foul... how is it acting if there's a foul?
My favourite call of the night... bjp to JT "JT it should be their ball, I won the jump"... TD2 player "Shutup Brad stop trying to get the ball everytime"... yeah right... fuckwit.

Cam's T? It confused the hell out of me too, was something about waving his arms around or so. Bizarre to say the least! I couldn't figure out that fucking arrow though, I was confused to buggery about it.. I won't comment on the rest of the stuff, although I'm impressed we didn't wear more techs than we did - Was expecting at least one bench T in the last 2-3 mins.

As for your just going through the motions, get your head out of your ass, give credit where it was due, we played well in the first, feel apart in the 3rd quarter...

And I didn't say you guys didn't play well, I thought Aaron and Carl did awesome and mentioned it to Carl during the game as to why we had only scored 12. That Pabz dude was very unlucky with many calls too. And if you're talking about sportsmanship maybe you should ask your team mates if they got high fives and sorry's after most fouls plays. God I know I personally threw more high fives to your team mates than mine and DaveM even got warned about patting Az on the bum. But when you're only down by 9 after playing so poorly and scoring 12 points in a half you really don't feel like you're out of it. Oh and, I'm pretty sure I'm entitled to an opinion.

You threw a cheap elbow which you don't deny after a contested rebound. I've played for a long time, been hammered 1000 times harder than anything in that game and never felt the need to throw an elbow. It has nothing to do with toughening up, it has to do with two friendly teams playing a game which was soured because of people's actions. In my original post I wasn't directly refering to you either. I do contest my elbow being called cheap, i said yes, one of your boys sparked up by an elbow of mine, it was on a rebound, i had my arms up with the ball, and got pushed into your other player, guy that pushed me ran into one (i didnt move at all) and the push forced my other elbow to get the other guy... to which he complained and called me a fuckhead after the game... yeah great.
My sportsmanship comment was to how some of your players acted after the game, name calling and simply trying to rub the win in isnt at all good enough, if this game was going to be in such good nature as you say, you would of taken the win, we took the loss on the chin, didnt do anything after the game until provoked.
As for jersey pulling again, ask Greg, because your singlet wasnt the only one being pulled, ask cam, also another one... Talking during free throws... another cheap move... if your going to slander our team, you better make sure your team is squeaky clean... which they arent.
And your not the most liked player out there Brad, so what if a player doesnt want small talk, we were there to play, if its just "going through the motions" as you say, why dont you go up to A Grade?

Everyone is fine off the court, I don't see why it shouldn't be that way on the court. Az, Carl and I had a ball last night, I haven't been rubbed up by two large bearded men in weeks. But when someone as big and ugly as Tom gets upset about an elbow in the dieing seconds of a game I can assure you it's not because of an accidental love tap as you describe it and it wouldn't be the first time I've seen you swing your elbows when you thought you deserved a foul, which I might add is never likely to come with Ian (as much as I love him).
So there ends my input into this discussion. Feel free to apologise to Tom for the elbow or not, because i'm sure that if it had been unintentional saying that would have solved this issue from the outset and I can only hope the next game is played in the spirit only a few of us did last night. And as I said in my original post, that's not pointing the finger at anyone.

I dont know which elbow your talking about then, the only elbow i had was in like the second quarter? thats the only time my elbow connected with anyone, and it was only a tap, from there he started talking to me, i simply told him that if he wasnt on my back that wouldnt happen, maybe to have a chat to the other bloke that pushed me into him, then walked to the FT line.
And trust me, there are people out there that dont like you, and it aint for your dirty play.

On a completely unrelated note, I'm out for next wednesday night's return stoush with Stealth. Other plans have come up. As for tonight, hopefully everyone can light up against Sabres, would be great to knock those fellas off.

TD2 with a come from behind draw against top of the table sabres. Rob picked up 4 fouls early in the 3rd. managed to play good d and keep himself in the game.
down by about 9 at half time, and it got out to about 12 at one stage. a massive 3rd saw us up by 1 at the last change. stayed pretty close down to the wire. nick had a chance to put dunk up with 2 seconds to go. it was a tough shot just inside the three line on the 45 with 2 defenders in his face. there was some minor contact during the shot but JT didnt see it as he was reffing by himself and got caught out.
big shout out to nick for knocking down 6 triples for the game.
oh and forgot to mention that mitch has a small penis.........

TD1 Took a hit tonight against a worthy Cows outfit.
1 vs 2 should probably have been a bigger game, but with Dave Heg out due to wedding commitments, TG out due to a sprained ankle, TMH with the flu, b j p with the flu, Yea Boi with a swollen right testicle and only Cam_a_kazi and 2Guns well we were spread thin on the ground.
Cows played well to build a good first quarter lead before TD1 stormed back to within 4 points at the half on some good inside play from b j p and outside shooting from Yea Boi. It was in this quarter where we should have asserted ourselves but too many turnovers, butchered fast breaks and opposition 2nd chance baskets kept them in front.
The rest of the game was pretty much basket for basket with TD1 trying to stay alive but not having the legs to come back over the top. Credit to the Cows for rotating their subs well and moving the ball well to deny us a chance. In the end misopportunities and a lack of legs down the stretch saw us take our first loss by 4.

Well done goes to Mr Slinger, for bringing two shoes for his right foot, and thus missing the encounter. Also thanks to Jimmy/Jason for being MIA for about the 3rd or 4th week running.

it woulda been good to have another big inside helping out with the boards. but at the end of the day was a good result. i think in the preseaon match we lost by bout 25 to them.

secondly, to address a few points raised, allbeit some time ago:
- dave - i would still value our friendship very much so, i just wished you'd call once in a while... :confused: i get soooo lonely!
- bjp - daaaamn, thanks for the compliments!! i didn't think i played that well at all...after tmh dropped me like a sack of spuds, i kinda wanted to take a backseat role (you know how it is, the bigger they are, etc.). oh and by the way, it's Dusan (pronounced doosh-sharn), for next time. :)
- tmh - you hurt me bro...in a way i've never been hurt before... LOL
- mitchV - let it go man...just let it go...
- mitchV & bjp - regarding the state of play for both teams, i honestly feel, regardless of what went on during the match, it was very heavily influenced by the officiating (for better or worse depending on each "situation," if i may call them that). Each team could only play as good as or as bad as the referees allowed. It was frustrating for my part, to have two entirely different styles on a game which lead to a great deal of overcalling and undercalling (or even no-calling), depending on who was standing where. I think its very hard to say which team played better or worse at any given point in the match and either way, no amount of "discussion" is going to change what is recorded in the books - team dunk 1 won, might as well get on with it and prepare for the next clash!
- n3b - LOL man, you didn't really miss out on much! would've been fun to "kekekeke" at ya but ah well, next time...
