In a thriller brisbane got up by 1 point!! Main standout i would say was Georgia McCarron from brisbane...as well as the left handed strong guard from ipswich (sorry i dont know her name!) cheers.

Looking from what ive seen.....georgia mccarron from brisbane, strong right handed guard/forward from gold coast, strong left handed guard frokm ipswich and a couple of the logan guards.

Not sure where they are coming on the ladder but if there's any U/12 Girls team thats better than Maroochydore then I'd like to see them. Just saw the M'dore kids dismantle Ipswich by a score like 78-25 or something very close. These kids run the ball, sprint and recover on D, block out, attack the basket and press in the full court..and they are all very young!

I think the most stand out player would be Courtney Woods Spartans strong right handed point guard and has a good shot. Also Gemma Tapson Spartans fast left handed guard. I think spartans has a good team this year

From Maroochydore, a young player named Mel Bateman, she is originally a Melbourne girl relocated to QLD, i am interested to know how she went this season?

She played 2 years of U12 VC in melbourne for the Nunawading Spectres and holding her own then. i am interested to know how she performed in U12s in QLD this season considering she has another season to go in that age group.

Congrats to Northside for faciltating the games over the weekend, a great idea. But if that is best standard of referees that is available then the whole excersise becomes a waste of time.

Game one ( Div1 girls) played must have had 40 travel calls and no fouls, second game less that 5 travel calls but at least 30 to 40 fouls including a Tech on the bench which would have to rate as the dumbest call seen all year. Over zealous calling ruined the game as a training run for both teams.

These kids are reffing to impress the Coordinators and the Assessors they are missing the whole point of officiating.

If this is a preview to the standard at State Championships then it is going to be a long frustrating week. The game is about the players, referees are a intergral part of the game but should never be a decisive factor in a game.

My impressions on the Classics.

Great Venue but maybe more seats or bleachers on the baselines were needed.
Inconsistent Refereeing throughout the week. The Refs are just too young (not bad just young).
Top 3 teams dominated the week but the next 4 or 5 teams were very close.
Saturday and Sunday need to be included in the Draw , too many parents with work comittments for the whole tournament to be held during midweek.
