Everyone should be able to compete. However when all fully affiliated assocns are paying $45 rego per player to BQ and PCYC are paying about half that then of course the other assocns will demand the same fees, sending BQ broke. The only thing for BQ to do if the PCYC wont pay full freight is to not allow them in PL till they pay the same as everybody else.
All Redlands Representaive Players are paying the price as everyone else. You should not believe gossip. checkwith BQ!

Why allow them to play at all, PL or SC if they dont pay their full dues?
Maybe its financially worth it with 10 teams in last years competition?
Maybe BQ should be encouraging these clubs and developing them to become financially productive. What if there was 8 more clubs out there that could enter 10 teams and we have 3 divisions playing in a season, i think that BQ would love an extra 800 memberships on its books? Don't you?
Is the fact they don't pay full registration sending BQ broke? Or is it other factors?

Bloody great idea! But so long as ALL the Associations out there paying full fees for years on end can be encouraged to be 'financially productive' and have their fees cut back to the same levels.
Pay the full fees (not just pay for your rep players) be a fully affiliated Association and play in the full competition on the same level of playing field as all the paying Associations. Till then, stay in the 'developing Associations' competition with the other half-payers.

Redlands entering premier league can't hurt as much as losing classics to a NZ team.

And I hope Redlands do make it into premier League. I'd like to see a developing assoc with more than 1 team in the PL comp. Wouldn't that get your goat? lmfao!

Josh Heng to coach Logan under 16 boys

I hope Josh is coaching @ Logan.. He is a good young coach who has been screwed over by SD for the last couple of years. I hope he gets a run with the U16 1st team as he has a lot to offer - just hope the boys are mentally tough as he can come off as a little 'harsh'. The parents may have to get used to it as well, but in a close game he gives the boys a lot of confidence and lets them know what's at stake.

Obviously no-one on these boards knows for sure whether Redlands will be 'allowed' to compete in PL, so lets just wait and see. I am sure if they are allowed that they will make it thru the grading tournament. They have a strong squad with the core of last years team and a couple of good new additions. They may have lost their big to U18s, however the Titans guard has been named in their 1st team so their back court should be as strong as the other title contenders.
I don't know what associations have any standout bigs this year (I'm guessing Brisbane probably have a dozen or so) so it may well be a 'battle of the back-courts'. There are some really promising 1 & 2 guards in this age group and it should be a pleasure to watch them thrive this year.
Good luck to everyone & let's stop whinging about who's paying what and worry about playing ball!!!

Spoken like someone who doesnt have to pay what the so called 'whingers' do. Wonder what the stance would be if you were having to pay full freight and the competitions parents didnt??!!

Good luck to the "Travelling Hengs" with their latest move to Logan.
Don't know about the getting screwed by SD bit, more likely the number of players he has destroyed!
Just a pitty that the family couldn't face their so called friends before they departed!

SW is struggling due to previous inhouse politicking and the huge losses of key players to other associations, but they have Christian so they are still a threat.
Oh yeah, we're scared, because Christian really took us apart last year as a Spartan?!

Christian hasnt been a threat since primary schools and same can be said for other primary school stars havent made anything since.
christian is still a good player, quit the bagging of players lads.
as for redlands, if they are upto the standard of PL, then let them play I say. Makes for a better comp and basketball in general.
in other news, 1st trails were held for the wiz under 16s today.

Hey totally neutral here....watched your team at Classics, it wasn't Christian with issues. His only issue was playing in such self indulgent, self satisfying, undisciplined teammates. No teamwork executed at all. Don't bag anyone until you start winning some games.

Grow up or should I say grow balls... bballs that is. Look a closer to home for the reason why SD has lost key coaches and players.

No loss of coaches to SD as Josh can't can't coach, can't play can't do anything.

You might say that because he has left your team but the reality is no association would knock him back if he wanted to play for them!

You don't even know what team i play for...I might even play for yours???!!!
I wasn't necessarily bagging Christian, just saying that no player in this league guarantees any team success, there's too much talent spread around.
I reckon if Redlands are good enough to play PL then they should be able to, the better the competition...the better the competition!

oii quite bagging christian out
he is a fourteen year old kid who just wants to play basketball
and you people that obviously have nothing better to do come on here and pay out on him. just let us kids play. how do you think a thirteen/fourteen year old kid takes it when they come on here and hear people saying that he/she cant play. not very good for the self confidence. go find something better to do rather than bagging out a kid with game. goshhhh
