MEDIA RELEASE
The Southern Districts Basketball Association will be hosting the Australian Institute of Sport on Sunday 1st June at 1:30pm at teh Clem Jones Youth Centre in Carina.
The game is part of our normal competition fixtures within the South Eastern Australian Basketball Association.
We at Southern Districts feel strongly about junior development and management has elected to make this game free for all juniors under the age of 18, providing they wear a basketball club or Association shirt to the game. This offer is for all players from all Associations, clubs and schools.
It is free for juniors as long as they come attired in a club, association or school basketball shirt.
It is important that junior players see the elite of our sport playing in the better competitions so that they can see, learn and aspire to be the best they can.
Queensland junior legends such as Jordan Page, Christian Salecich and Mitchell Young will be playing against current and former Brisbane Bullets players Adam Gibson, Greg Vanderjagt, Penni Nasalo and Justin Brown as part of the Arrow Caravan & Towbar Spartans.
The game will start at 1:30pm following the Carina Leagues Club Lady Spartans game against the Albury Wodonga Bandits, which starts at 12 noon. This game is also a great chance for young female athletes to see some of Queenslands most talented female basketballers against the basketball power house that produced players such as Lauren Jackson.
Associations, schools and clubs who want to book adult tickets may do so by contacting the office at Southern Districts on 3398 2790 during normal business hours.
Make sure your young athletes do not miss this chance to see Australia’s best in action.
