From what I heard from one of the players who was involved:

Spartans
Titans
Brisbane Silver

Brisbane are definatly going to win the final!

I have failed to see any logan big shut down gretel like Oli, Anna Motum or Emily Perry, Massive efforts by all 3 to literally stop one of the best players in the girls league at the moment. Brisbane also have the guards to back the bigs up. Sarah Davis and Riesha both have potential, and have put big numbers on the board for brisbane.

Sorry logan, but this isnt your game

I dont think Logan have any bigs, especially the size of the Brisbane bigs.

Let them talk themselves up. Lie "doggo" and even agree with them...then spring the most allmighty surprise and beat thm while they are still wondering what happened. Makes the win SOOO much better!! Good Luck.

in Brisbane's previous games they have been behind quite abit.. as much as like 16 and come back.
Brisbane aren't a team that lose their momentum once they are down.
they keep coming back.

Sorry guys, but Brisbane never looked like losing. Lead the entire game except for one turnover when Logan were up by 1. Mikala for Logan had a great game, carries the team with great skill. Brisbane defense too strong for rest of team.

Michaela and Tash played well for Logan as well as other outside shooters. Brisbane had many good players all contributing. Brisbane were too big and got a lot of boards, imo the best players were Anna who was consistent and strong and Sarah played well after half time. Ollie didn't do great, Emily and Anna were the best bigs.

I think Brisbane's bigs, Ollie, Anna, Emily and Ardia all played well, backed up by great work from Sarah. Richa shot well but Brisbane needed Kartya's defence to hold off a Logan comeback. Ashleigh and Lia were on fire. Jennae put in some awesome defence. The captain Shelby came back from injury and considering it was her first game back - helped the team pull off an outstanding win. GREAT FINAL FROM 2 GREAT TEAMS. lOVED EVERY MINUTE. Good Luck in Ipswich.

Logan couldn't buy one from outside, don't know what you were watching. I was there. Brisbane played a 1-3-1 zone for 3 and a bit quarters. They won by 7. They were too big in the end in that zone. Would like to see them match the Logan group man-to-man for 4 quarters. But the zone worked - Logan had many opportunities but could not hit an outside shot. Best player was no. 12 from brissy, don't know her name, she was the difference in the end.

If you were there you would have seen that Brisbane played MAN for 3 and a bit Quarters and the 1-3-1 zone for about half of the last quarter. I don't think 12 was the best player, she just was the one left over from the defense putting pressure on the few bigs who they thought would be most of a threat. Therefore by being free she was always going to shine, as would any of the bigs.

I cannot believe people say logan played well,

number 6 literally scored all their points, they were shocking.

number 5 thinks she is a shooter, but clearly could hit sweet, sweet, nothing!!!

and the caps girls played zone for at most 6 minutes, and that was to give their "not so good" players a run.

refereeing was actually good, thats a change for logan dont you think.

the game was dominted by bigs. not surprising seeming logans second tallest player happens to be their point gaurd. and she isnt a bad one at that.

oh and before you come talking S**T back, i am from the maddest association "Maroochydore" (reppin it up in 16's and 18's dudes PL winners 2 times)

I didn't notice any not so good players from Caps. If you are talking about the non-starters, I was there and they played man on defence. The coach played a zone during the game at different times, so what - that's a type of defence in basketball. Get back to your madhouse!

So true. She is by far the best bottom age QLD point quard and is a true team leader and scorer. She may not show a big threat this year but come classics next year shell be even better.

You think AIS could program better.

Qld classics have been on the calendar for along time. They are traditionally played at this time of the year. This could be a stuff up (if true) that cannot be blamed on BQ

Yes true, maybe AIS could program better. Have been around BBQ for some 35 years so have seen the ups and downs. And actually they (the classics) have only been traditionally played at Easter for approx the last 5 years. Before that it was always later in the year, usually the middle of the year holidays, but fitting nationals in as well left too short a time for state teams to prepare, so they were moved. Just would be lovely if they all kept in touch so it all worked out for everyone.

Have to agree #12 is Awesome and such a lovely girl, it was a pleasure to play against someone who was not bitchy. It was a shame that she had to go away to AIS but I guess when the camp dates where on the same days she didnt really have a chose. AIS would be a higher priority . While Ipswich did a good job with the organisation, this does not make up for the stadium which is very sub standard both from a player point of view and a spectators. The main court is fine but the other two are terrible. Shame on BQ for allowing the 16 Girls to be held there. Heard many complaints about the condition of the courts and lack of accommodation.

It works something like this. 75 % of the registered players in Quensland are from south of Noosa. Thats why 3 out of 4 classics {75%} are hosted in the South. You live in the North, you need to get used to traveling to Classics. Townsville easily the pick of the Northern Centres. Carins have a nice setup court wise, but not enough Refs, scorebench and admin types that Townsville have.

Why anyone would let Ipswich host a Classics is beyond my comprhension, great people, terrible courts. Brisbane and Districts have sweet courts, experience and are Association run, not Council owned. Boondal, Logan and Caloundra all council run, have better courts than the Association owned Ipswich.

Clean Facilities- Unlike Other Stadium Ipswich Always Had Clean Toilets, Available Bins, Cleaning And Healthy Eating Areas. Unlike Other Stadiums I Have Played My State Titles At.
Support Staff Constantly Working Behind The Scene To Make The Titles Enjoyable For Everyone Involved
And Just So You Know No Matter What The Backboard Or Floors Are Like Good Athletes Over Come That (even Though I Believe Ipswich Stadium Is Just As Good As Brisbane And Sothern Districts). But If You Let Something Like A Backboard Affect Your Game Maybe You Are In The Wrong Sport.
Show A Little Bit Of Repsect Who Volunteered Their Time To Hold This Event For You. There Are Many Countries In The World Where Kids Aren't As Fortunate Maybe You Should Think About That!

You cannot say that Ippy courts are any worse than many other stadiums. Brisbane crt 2 is not the correct size and you are virtually siiting on the court or in with the teams on their bench. That is if you are lucky enough to get a seat to watch the game.. Spartans court 2 is also sub standard as a lot of the time the sun is in your eyes while you are spectating and often worse for the players. Lets just congratulate Ipswich on a great job. Easily the best classics I have been a part of over many years in basketball!

These 4 girls lead the way for their respective associations and well deserved selection. Consistent throughout what was a very closely contested rep season. Congratulations

Just to let people know, (like the ignorant U16 boy) Ipswich doesn't have wooden backboards. Also, do you realise that now Ipswich has held a classics, they will have more money, to spend on things like floors, chairs, etc.
One of the most organised classics I have ever been to. Helpers EVERYWHERE. Unlike other classics I have been to where you had to search high and low.
And it's not like other stadiums don't have other faults, Southern Districts is a complete eyesore. It looks they employed a colour-blind painter to do the place. Brisbane is dirty. Disgusting.

Instead of slanging stadiums in the U16girls forum, maybe someone could start a Pros/Cons stadiums post.

How about you start appreciating what you have got first as you obviously take everything in life for granted.

I'm sorry southen districts doesn't have the money u think they do to re-paint the building.
why can't people just be happy with what there is! if it wasn't for ipswich there wouldn't have been any classics. if it wasn't for southern districts i wouldn't have the orportunity to play basketball. and im sure that goes for all those people bitching about the ipswich stadium and also everyone that plays!

Unfortunately basketball is not one of those sports in Qld blessed with vasts amounts of money. (We can't even manage to retain the Bullets who were a foundation team). With respect to the state of the respective stadiums I agree that some look a bit ordinary, but at least they are available. Of more concern is the fact that there are still a lot of courtside side areas which offer sharp surfaces where players can injure themselves. These need to be addressed before any cosmetic upgrades.

Classics in Easter and Nationals in July a bit of a gap between, then factor in Schools state titles soon after.
