Am going to give my ten cents worth on the girls for this weekend.
Bundaberg v Cabooluture - Century 21 stadium
Bundaberg looking better in recent weeks but just dont have the depth to match it with the better teams. Caboolture too quick and
Logan v Ipswich - Logan
Logan coming off a right royal smashing last weekend vs Townsville will have them fired up and poor old Ipswich too small not deep enough
Logan by 35
Cairns v Gladstone - Cairns
Tip of the week for a so called upset! Why I say so called is because without Cox Cairns have got nothing. New import for Gladstone looks the goods and goes hard.
Gladstone by 8
Rocky v Northside - Rocky
Tip is that Rocky will go through over Cairns in the 3rd spot from up North.
Rocky by 27
South West v maroochy - South West
Tough one to pick with both teams going well and on the back of some wins. Mind you, I think that South West being the bigger of the two teams will get the W here.
Pirates by 6.
Mackay v Wizards - Mackay
I think that Mackay will beat the wizards by 60 and Wilson will have a 100 points!! Too strong for the poor helpless Northside girls... Will they get a W in season 2008?
Mackay by 40
Townsville v Gladstone - Townsville
My pick for this game is that gladstone will break the 37 game winning streak and will do so by beating them by 26. (I am joking everyone)
Gladstone will toil hard but will go down by 45.
Brisbane v Toowoomba - Brisbane
TOugh one to pick with both teams languishing at the bottom of the ladder. However in saying that I dont think anyone in the brisbane outfit will be able to stop Price. Battle of the coaches here with Emma Hammo taking on the might of Jenny Bubach.
Toowoomba by 12

Brisbane women could have a win this week as they have a new coach
well seeing as i'm driving all day tomoro thought i'd better put my bookie Tasos tips in or else he would get his knickers in a knot like the Lit B!tch this week who had something to say about Yuri's tips for rd 9 who by the way said he couldnt give toss what you think he stands by his tips.. anyway Tasos from Cyprus thinks these are the odds for round 10...
Bundy v Suns
55pts thats a lot of shots did neers play any defense on him that game hopefully bundy aren't goin to make same mistake cos jay is good but if he gets in foul trouble again Suns win but i think Central will be rockin this satnite with boys celebratin win no.2... $5 on Bulls
Bulls 2:1 Suns 3:1
Logan v Ippy
after playin Bigfish an Heat up north Logan must be lookin forward to playin any1 right now well except maybe SW NS Rocky or Gladstone... not sure wats happenin down there in Ippyland, once upon a time they were gettin coverage all over BD but seems to have gone quiet... guaranteed if they win mite hear a squeak good luck to em i say... $30 on Logan
Logan 2:1 Ippy 6:1
Cairns v Power
i love Cairns not the team the Casino i also love Gilligans and i've met a few future wives at each place so with the prospect of a new MRS Nagas or at least my 6th Baby mumma i think Lady Luck will be on our side... $20 on Power
Power 1:1 Cairns 1.1:1
Rocky v NS
BBBOOOOO TRAITOR $%#... this is all Cam T will hear from walkin in to walkin out of the stadium... i jus hope he doesnt airball a freethrow up there cos thats embarrassin... but he will be fired up to show the crowd why he's worth so much money and Tweedy will be keen to teach him a lesson for leaving should be a good game but Cam knows better then most that Rocky dont lose in Rocky... $25 on Rocky
Rocky 2:1 NS 4:1
SW v Clips
the fairytale is over but 9-1 after rd 10 is still a very impressive story to tell i hope Clips Kids are on fire for this match up... $5 on SW
SW 2:1 Clips 5:1
Mkay v Wiz
Pearce played ok but copped a little flak first game in, this is another road trip that nobody likes playin Rocky sux but then having to drive 4 hrs on the most Boring patch of Highway in the world i jus hope the bus doesnt break down cos theres nothing out there except serial killers lookin for Hitchhikers.. $10 on Wiz
Wiz 2:1 Mkay 3.5:1
Heat v Power
Casino, Watermark, Cri, Bullys, the Bank easily one of the best Sunday sesh's in QLD and these are just a few of the places that are going to hear the Power song this weekend.. a few firsts for Chris Tucker this w-end he will get his first Dub Dub and be p!ssed as a parrot... $20 on Power
Power 75:1 Heat 76:1
Caps v Neers
well yuri n i copped sum flack for betting against neers last week it's jus becos we dont know how they are doing it we dont think they are that good but what does he care he lives in Uzbekistan... $10 on Caps
Caps 2:1 Neers 3:1
be interesting to see if Tasos gets a bite or a bet on this weeks odds, he will only take bets in Cypriots an he really loves Wookie when he gets drunk an puts his videos on YouTube..

Just looking at Mackay and Rockhampton roster's and wondering how much those team's are worth?
Fitz
Deba
Meehl
Oriard
Kruger
Pearce
Martin
Thompson
Weigh
Dumbilaskis
McDade
Which team would be worth the most? Would any other team be worth more than these 2?

What is the go here?
Has Emma resigned/been booted/quit/busy getting money together to buy the Bullets?
Fill us in.
Greg Kent has moved up from the assistant role, his first game was actually against Maroochydore a couple of weeks ago.
Emma was struggling with the job and not enjoying it so she decided to step aside. She has had a rough trot the last few weeks with the bullets demise, having her 52nd surgical procedure and she just was not enjoying the QABL. Hopefully the break will do all parties a world of good.
Watch out for the Caps men's side, they are hitting their straps at the right time. The boys will reportedly welcome a new addition to the fold this weekend, he may help a bit too. Word on the street has it that Hamo will make his long awaited return from injury against the Neers on Sunday too. I hear Olsen is ready to go as well. They certainly have some depth. good luck to the leagues best coach in sorting out court time.

the new brisbane signing is Dusty Rychart!!!! great signing. dont know if he is playing this weekend though. heard hes not coming for a week or so, should just play enough games to qualify for finals barring injury.
Dusty Rychart are you kidding me. I guess the Caps and BP have had enough of relying on 'association' players as we've seen in past seasons. Must not have enjoyed being beaten by Coastal and Northside I'd say.
As for the Caps women, I don't think Emma can be blamed for their lack of success. The fact is that they simply don't have the horses to compete. BBI have had a plethora of wonderful talent come through the junior ranks, but have failed to secure many to compete at the highest level. This is an agenda relative to almost every association in the state. Why are we having so much trouble getting our girls to stay in the game????

Maybe if you promised some cheeseburgers to the "lady" caps in return for a win you would see a bit of effort.
I just checked out their team season stats on the qabl website and it is uglier than midget porn. Pretty sure you can't blame any coach for shooting percentages that low.

i think what he is saying is that the homegrown brissy boys were'nt gettin it done and now they're asking for outside help.but i think they were gonna come good anyway, they have a great roster and have stuggled with injuries, but now with dusty, they are gonna go close to winning it if they can get their best team on the court.

If you even had a very small clue, you would know that "Barty and those guys who have been busting their tails for years" fully endorsed the decision to add Rychart. They realise that the addition of a legitimate player finally put the Caps on a level playing field with pretty much every other club in the comp. These guys just want to win, the addition of Palmer and Rychart give em a great chance! Typical of the classy guys in the Caps, all they want is a chance to compete for a title.
To the few Ema baggers, pretty sure we know who you are, typical of the way you roll. Things didn't work out, but the long term loyal services given to BBI by Emma and Pam have been appreciated by hundreds of players and everyone associated with the club . I worked out who the bagger was when she had a shot at Pam, you really need to build a bridge, get on it and keep moving north with your little mate!!
I will say that Emma was by far the best candidate and the only real coaching alternative for the job in 08....

yeah, i you're right, i have no clue. Some of my best friends play in that Caps team and i've known them for years. All i'm saying is that if the Association wants to spend some money, why not reward some of the loyal guys? I understand why they'd sign Dusty, he'll make a massive difference. All I was saying was, why not reward some of the other guys if there's a bit of money around? I'm sure they're all stoked to have Dusty in the team, the young bigs will learn a lot off him too. I hope the Caps go well, I know the guys are all busting their butts and love playing there.

Townsville Crocodiles rookie gets taste of NBL (http://www.townsvillebulletin.com.au/article/2008/06/21/14102_sport.html)
CROCS coach Trevor Gleeson reckons Steven Broom has left Townsville with his `eyes wide open' about life as a professional basketballer.
The 21-year-old rookie finished a week-long stint with the NBL club yesterday, learning just how intense the step up from amateur to professional really is.

TOWNSVILLE Heat coach Rob Rose was looking forward to seeing a top-quality defensive effort from his side when they play Gladstone at SeaFM Stadium tomorrow.
Defence was the focus at training this week and Rose wants to see that work transferred to the game.
"We just started off bad in defence the past couple of weeks, so we want to start strong in `D' from the start," Rose said.
"We just want to stop the players with solid defence."
The Heat, who are sitting in fourth spot on the QABL ladder, will be looking to extend their seven-game winning streak when they play 11th-placed Gladstone.

THE Cairns Marlins are determined to avoid falling into the trap of judging tomorrow's Queensland Australian Basketball League opponents on paper.
Gladstone has won just three of its nine games so far this season but coach Jamie Pearlman will ask his players to show the same ruthlessness they displayed against Logan last week when they meet the Power in Cairns tomorrow.

It is actually only 40% according to the rules set by Basketball Australia, you need to play in 8 games.
Caught most of the final quarter at the Auchendome today. Was hoping for a close battle, but it was anything but with the Caps leading by 40. Brown had fouled out already for the Neers and Grieve didn't suit up. Hard to take anything from the time I watched, but the Caps defense was looking pretty good. Drew Phillips best in the last twelve minutes imho. Dusty to play away against Coastal next weekend, damn.
Heard Wizards men got up by 11 today over Mackay, and the women went down by 19.

Toowoomba very ordinary against the Caps. Brisbane pressure had Toowoomba in trouble all game long. 40 TO's from the Neers to only Caps 18. Big difference in field goal % too with neers defence unable to stop caps scoring almost at will. Toowoomba coach needs to teach his guys how to keep their heads under pressure. Caps looked much better drilled and in control. Well done to Brissy young guns stepping up and getting it done.

Clyde seemed to lack fitness to me and got into foul trouble too easily. Yes the Bulls were better with him on the floor, but i don't know if he was worth forking out extra money over.

6 Blockbuster games that will have a major impact on this season:
Cairns @ Rockhampton
Cairns have run into some red hot form and if they can manage to go into Rocky and get the W they could not only push themselves into 2nd in Pool A but knock Rockhampton out of the number 1 spot in the league. I expect Rocky to be too good at home though. Rocky by 5
Townsville @ Cairns
Townsvilles only remaining serious challenge is the Marlins and should Cairns find a way to knock off Rocky this match-up would most likely be a winner take all for 2nd spot. I expect Cairns to win this one and get some revenge for their early season loss to the Heat. Cairns by 12
Rockhampton @ Brisbane
Brisbane is in sparkling form and are serious title contenders, and Rocky is no certainty to win this one. I expect the Rockets to just scrape home but should they drop this one it opens the door for South West to take the number 1 seed. Rocky by 9
Northside @ Brisbane
If results go as expected this will be the game that decides who finishes number 1 in Pool B. Brisbane are on fire and are getting better every week and I would expect them to win this one, but by how much may become very important as head-to-head will likely split these teams at seasons end. Brisbane by 8
South West @ Rockhampton
South West has a good run home having already knocked off Cairns and Townsville early in the season. Wizards will be a good challenge but I think South West will get over the top, as they will against Logan and Mackay, meaning if the Pirates can defeat the Rockets they are a certainty to take number 1. The Pirates will be outclassed though and would mean should both teams finish on 2 losses South West would drop to 2nd and would need to rely on another Rockhampton loss. Rockhampton by 17
Logan @ Toowoomba
This is for a playoff spot. Theres still a lot to be decided but I dont expect South West to hold on to number 1 which would mean only the 2nd seed in Pool C would get a playoff spot. I have both teams level at 10 7 not including this game, and although I believe Logan are the better team I think Toowoomba will come out and shoot the lights out and take that playoff spot away from the Thunder. Toowoomba by 13
Based on those projections I believe the ladder will look like this:
Pool A
#Rockhampton 16 2
*Townsville 14 4
*Cairns 13 5
Mackay 8 10
Gladstone 4 14
Pool B
*Wizards 13 5
*Brisbane 13 5
Coastal 6 12
Mdore 1 17
Bundaberg 1 17
Pool C
*South West 16 2
*Toowoomba 11 7
Logan 10 8
Gold Coast 7 11
Ipswich 2 16

Rocky vs south west- rocky by 20+
Mackay vs South west- mackay by 8
Rocky vs Brisbane- Rocky by 15
Nth side vs Brisbane- Nthside by 10
Logan vs brisbane at logan will be a great game too.
Cairns vs rocky- rocky by 15+
Tville vs cairns- cairns by 7
Logan vs twoomba- logan easy
South west vs nthside- south west by 9
Brisbane have to play nthside after they play rocky the night b4, that game will be very tough and take a fair bit out of the caps so i dont think they will get the wiz at the wiz on sunday.
South west can only hope to get 1 win this weekend, i would be putting all my eggs into the one basket and getting mackay. i tip them to drop both this weekend with the young kids not handling the travel well or the hostile environments.
Brisbane at logan will be a cracker and could go either way.
Rocky vs cairns will be awesome, think the home team will fire up for this one.
Tville vs cairns will be great too.
Alot of talk about brisbane being title contenders but all they r doin is beating the teams they r supposed to beat(mind u beating them very well), they still have a swag of very loseable
games.
Pirates still have a few they could drop aswell rocky mackay nthside goldy logan(they r no certainty to win these after the twoomba loss).
Predictions
1st Rocky 16 and 2
Pool A
Tville 14 and 4
Carins 13 and 5
Pool B
Nthside 14 and 4
Brisbane 13 and 5
Pool C
Pirates 14 and 4
Logan 12 and 6
Then im tipping logan in the upset over pirates
Nthside over bris
Cairns over tville
So Rocky vs logan in rocky tipping that one to be a bloodbath and rocky to win
Cairns vs nthside and the marlins with too much depth for the wiz
Rocky vs cairns final in rocky will be an awesome game! Just my thoughts

Hmm, I think you got your draw a bit mixed up for this weekends games unless that is a really early finals format prediction?.....
Round 11
Northside v Gladstone
Bundaberg v Marrochydore
Caboolture v Brisbane
Ipswich v Gold Coast
Mackay v South West
Rockhampton v South West
Logan v Gladstone
Townsville and Cairns have the bye this week

Kind of suprised by the all star line up... not to say its not good, a few of them dont jump out as obvious picks for me tho. Anyone know who will be coaching? Looks to me like no northern players due to the distance they would have to travel, is this the case? Look for Thalo, Dante and Jett to try outshine everyone (which one of them probably will). Aucoin, Darragh and Guerney to get frustrated by it and Massey, Shaw, David and Broom to hide in the corner and watch it all unfold.

its about 6.5 hours to rocky and 4 hours from rocky to mackay by bus without stops so in total 10.5 hours
I'd say 3.5hrs-ish from Rocky to Mackay. Never takes me 4hrs and I always abide by the rules :D

north pool seems to be pool of ease this year...tides seem to have turned and everyone looks forward to beating up on teams from the north...great to see south dominate. On a lighter note does david gurney use spray tan????
