man north looked awesome today!

firstly beat Cap by 80 then second game Darling Ds by 90

they play as a team and have huge dpeth off the bench!

Suncoast are the secnd best sofar with 2 from 2 mainly starring mdoor and a few BBI players...

South Cost are also another team with Jake Allan and Michael Merlano playing well.

Well worth the drive to come out and watch although i dont know where you'll sit becasue the venue is terrible!

Girls U15's: Well done to players & parents. loved the way all games played in the right spirit.

Boys: Some great b-ball talent around. Unfortunately also a lot of talent for swearing, getting tech fouls, throwing tantrums & not accepting the ref's call. (teacher coaches - maybe your responsibility??). Within the same (& all) teams there were also great examples of sportsmanship.

Who ever picked the state teams must have payed little attention when watching games! What a joke that Number 11 from Met West made the team. Throughout the majority of her games she was asking to be taken of the court, because she could not do what she was meant to be doing. Defensivlely, she is lazy and gives up. There were players that should have been selected well before her. For example, Number 6 from Pen., Number 7 from Cap., Number 6 and & 7 from Met West, plus others !
No someone who does not have the same ability and committment as many others, is going to be known to state selectors in years to come.

Thats not entirely true the boys and girls team had several state players who performed well at Nationals and most certainly at this schools state titles as well. They are certainly not a 'bunch of names' randomly chosen. All of the players chosen deservedly so. Congrats to all.

I think too much emphasis is made of top scoring. Basketball is not just about making baskets. A team has to prevent the other team from scoring too.
All in all it was a great four days. There is no need for trash talk or bagging any of the kids that played their hearts out.It was wonderful to see these players from all over Queensland get together and catch up with mates from other areas as well as making new friends.

south coast were down by 32 with a quater left, northern took there foot off and let them get back in because it was already over
so does everyone think that it was a conwinsidence that every team played bad agaisnt northern?
no, its cause northern were the best team by far and defensively shut everybody down, look at all the top scorers.....then look how many points they scored against northern

This is it...

Northern had 2 things that every other team there didnt have :

1. Team Unity - they all got along, didnt bitch with eachother, didnt blame, didnt point the finger, they were a TEAM.

2. Depth - that team didnt have 3 or 4 best players, they had 10 deep and it showed when there first games the bench was scoring more then the starters. It isnt easy for a team with 5 state starters to be backed up as good as they were.

These two things is what won them a state title, and yeh it may be Schools but dont be surprised if you see that exact same team in 2 years at not only U18s schools, but U18s Classics...
