Some interesting battles this weekend at both the top and the bottom of the ladder, should be a great weekend of ball - any thoughts/game preview yet?
C'mon 2 cents you must have a big chance of a W this weekend and I am surprised you are not talking to your bookie and putting a billion on it....lol

Two new names on the bulls roster in Anthony Schlotzer and Anthony Parry. V-dogg has had players this year but still only has 2 wins so he keeps on recruiting to coach.

Nothing wrong with that. If my team only had two wins I'd do everything in my power to get a third. Shame Pags wasn't playing from the start of the season.

Anthony Schlotzer and Anthony Parry are on the roster but I can honestly say they wont get a run this season. Parry is no way near game fit and Schlotzer not far behind. Vdogg is doing ok, if he can concentrate on the game and not the after party at the Pinnacle. He has a capable team although he has some inexperienced bench players.

hahahahahahaha last party at the pinnacle was on my bday and i didnt even have a drink
as for concentrating on the game thats all i do, paggs and shlotz were a last minute decision and after they were registered they decided not to play, shlotz didnt have the time with his job and paggs said to me himself he wasnt ready and would seriously consider playing next year.
we have a limited bench this year, we ahave lost 9 players from the team bundy had last year ask any team who loses 9 players how many wins they would expect to get with a limited preseason and 2 weeks to get a team on the floor and ready to play as a team
im not happy with only having 2 wins as we should have beaten logan and if clyde was cleared to play from the start of season we would have beaten gladstone no offence to nagas and blair.
common v dogg clyde would not have made up 40 points against gladstone?
Callum Baynes suited up for the marlins, good signing. Stats dropped out and cairns only up 3 points at 3q time jett with 42 points at 3q time.
Any results from up there?

Bundy push Rocky harder than most expect. The Bulls led by 9 at haltime before the Rockets kicked into gear to win 110-95. Rocky only took 7 guys on the road before backing up at home against Ippy on Sat. McDade, Thompson and Martin all with handy points, Thompson also dishing out 12 assists. Anderson leads the Bulls with 32. Just not enough depth but a good effort.
Rocky easily win women's game by 30
Suns go down fighting to Cairns 114-100.
Jett HUGE with 56 & 24. Forget that rubbish Jay Andersen talk, he is hands down the best individual player in this league, and if anyoen deserves an NBL looks it's him.

The Gold Goannas snuck back into title calculations with a hard fought win against Logan and their three Americans. Aucoin was big with 35 whilst Matt Zauner taught Logans inexperienced bigs a lesson in post play with 28 and 15 rebounds. Josh Darragh had his best game of the year whilst for the home team Thalo Green was his normal damaging self tallying 31, most from the foul line. It was a very high standard game from start to finish marred only by a spectacular coaching error by Logan allowing the visitors to gain the split by winning by more than the 13 points they lost by to Logan in their first encounter. With Logan down 15, Meyerding dribbled out the clock when a three pointer would have gained the split which could be very important in what is a very congested ladder and southern zone in particular. It appeared that Orlick was trying to out coach Szigeti all game with numerous strange combinations on the court in attempt to upset the Goannas three guard rotation. At one point Guerekis was running the point with four bigs. Szigeti answered the knockers with what im sure would have been a very satisfying win for the Lizards.

Credit where credit due.....Goannas good win. Logan gave you that game in the final quarter. A word from the wise... Coach Orlick more time spent on coaching and less on video watching might help. And check out who's on the court at any given time, some of those subbing combos were 'head scratching'. Seb and Josh did nothing for the team but spent alot of time on the court.

maroochydore 2 bt caps by 6..bet on it!
V Dogg had the Bundy guys all fired up against the Rockets and went close to winning the game - he has done a good job wth a group that were essentially thrown together at the death. The enthusiasm that they displayed is a credit to V Dogg.
While a loss doesn't give you an points on the ladder you guys earnt some respect last night - hopefully some more wins are just around the corner for you guys.
A couple of seasons together and an opportunity to grow and that team will improve enormously.

who won out of toowoomba and logan. and who won all other games?
swm over northside by 1. Neisler hit 2 FTs with 1.8 to put the home team up. SWM were up 20+ early by all accounts.

You can only beat what the opposition bring to the floor. No probs for Gladstone even if Clyde played. Different game different day, coach Smith would have made the adjustments and Gladdy still would have won the game.

Gurney broke the backboard on the mountain this morning so the Neers game was moved down the road. Hence no Live Stats.

Two thirds of the season now gone. Here are my thoughts on a current League All-Star side.
Starting Five
Cam Tragardh (Northside) - Having a typical solid season.
Bryan Jett (Caboolture) - Most exciting import since James Smith. Heard whispers of an NBL gig but I'm pretty sure that was local media generated hype. Not sure how MVP is decided these days but if he continues his current form he should get it.
Dave Gurney (Toowoomba) - Solid team player, best rebounding three going around. Kind of player any team would snap up.
Mike Cedar (Townsville) - Continuing his form as the best two.
Scott Cook (Cairns) - Back from injury and leading the way for the fish. Awesome shooting percentage for a guard and perhaps the most reliable player to trust with the rock.
Bench
Thalo Green (Logan) - A great case for either he or Aucoin to replace Gurney in my starting 5 could be made. Gurney gets my nod for his temperament.
Jason Aucoin (Gold Coast) - As above.
Dante Sykes (Northside) - Still earning his nickname TO, but taking care of business elsewhere.
Brendan Teys (South West) - Best youngster this year. Fits well in the Pirates' system where nobody is selfish and everybody knows when to take the right shot.
Jason Cameron (South West) - Is not the same player the last time he lit up our league, but doing a bang up job having to guard the 5 spot every game.
Jay Anderson (Bundaberg) - Will never get the respect he deserves whlst the Bulls are easybeats, but is putting up some great figures.
Chris Cedar (Townsville) - Sneaks onto my bench. Don't think too many took him seriously at season start, but it's fair to say he has hit some great form and has been a primary reason why the Heat are hitting their straps.
Thoughts????

looking at stats and mick cedar did not suit up last night. also noticed that thalo got to 13 fouls on him and shot 29 free throws, man he gets to the line.

Thalo did get to the line a hell of a lot, but he was very well looked after by the officials. A number of dubious calls going down the stretch put logan to the line when toowoomba were making a surge. It's unfortunate that in what a had the makings of a great game, the players didn't determine the outcome.........saying that the neers boys did commit a number of just 'stupid fouls' which didn't help their cause. Now they are up against it if they are going to make the playoffs

Any reason the Pirates haven't got their boxscores up from last night? They always seem to be lacking in this department for some reason.

Nah, they should still have the best run home of all the other teams in the southern pool. Apart from NW and Cairns they have the 3 bottom teams.
With SW playing Logan and GC to finish the round games the spots in this pool will come down to the last week.
The Neers have the beef on GC, and Logan have the toughest run home.

An interesting scenario happening in the northern pool:
If Townsville beats Cairns next week then the only way Cairns can make the finals is if the LOSE to Rocky in the last round.
(provided SW keeps winning).

I like the look of the all-star team picked for the men above.
With the Townsville Women sweeping everything infront of them this season I would like to see a Flames vs. Rest of the League All-Star team in a game. My All-star line-up would be;
Starters
Michaels (Logan)
Wilson (Mackay)
Haynes (Logan)
Parsons (South West)
Davis (Logan)
Bench
Brady (South West)
Lewis (Rocky)
Abele (GC)
Abbott (GC)
Profitt (GC)
This team would definitely set a big challenge to Townsville. Shame we cant see this game, i think it would be a womens game worth watching.

I believe that is two teams now!!this one more surprisingly than the last.
look i know the guy and think he is a nice guy and most people i know who know him say the same thing!
Obviously he has lost some passion for the game, and as an on-looker and fan of the QABL , llyod find the passion that used to make people admire your game and not mock your off-court issues!
from a long time league fan, hopefully its not the last we have seen of you.
Maybe Hervey Bay should get back into it, i bet he will find something then.
