Geez refs forgot that rule last year.

and the year before that when Jorden Taeo from Logan was doing 360s in the warm up.

Cmon, entertainment baby!

Yeah it's on you tube!

stupid rule maybe limiting entertainment... but this is a junior sport and referee's, coaches and administration have these rules in place so that nobody causes serious injuries to themselves.

there has been a few deaths and many injuries as a result of dunking that has prompted this rule.
Causes somewhat of a problem when someone rips the rim down or breaks the backboard in the middle of a 6 game PL afternoon or Classics on that court??!!! Not to mention the expense.

i was down south at the time of the grandfinal for the southerners, then flew up to in time to watch the grand final of the top of the north, and after watching both i think that the north state team will easily beat the south team, even if north had were to have some dodgy picks.

Don't judge southerners on that game - it wasn't one of the better games of the season.

Maybe not but when a coach gets pissed about having his instructions ignored and starting a game with a tech and the player has his sorry arse in street clothes for the tournament...that will stop dunking in warm ups.

two things:

1. you have no life
2. only 4 people maximum from this game will make state

completly true

the standard of the North compared to South for state selections is wayyy more competitive and higher standards up North.
They will be much stronger then South.

basketball is for lanky queers...

oi has anyone heard of that CoBra guy that plays in townsville. hes like a 5 foot pocket rocket with the maddest skills going round he can do mad lay ups and can backboard tap.

Nick chia is a gammin basketball playa CoBra will pretty much run really fast around him in circles. then he will get dizzy and fall over and before you know it CoBra will dunk all over your assss.

Beutifull people

so its that time again when all teams travel away to see just what they have been working for the whole season to really see who's the best in the state.
should be a fun and excellent classic's this year with a lot of great athletes and coaches in the comp.

Just want to give a shout out to the coastal suns under 16 boys had a pretty sad ending to the season with the lose to runaway bay by 6. Look for them to come out and show everyone that not making BQJBC finals doesn't mean you can't match it with the top 2 teams in the state and win back what they rightfully deserved.

Good luck to all teams competing and to the referee's, BQ staff and all coaches

Have fun and play hard

Must be a Coastal Suns Player/Parent/Coach, sorry if not you Matt. Coastal did have a great year but let a couple of games 'slip' this season (maroochydore comes to mind), and two injuries the last match before finals may have played a part in results. They have had a great year on the back of excellent coaching, not only this year but also last season. A great bunch of boys/young men whom deserve a successful Classics. No team can afford to let their game standard drop as we all know one loss is the difference to making finals or not, and injuries to all possible finalists this week can be the difference. Good luck to all teams competeing this Classics - play hard, play fair and enjoy

i agree, the north boys have been playing very well, the intensity of their games is at a much higher level than what there is down south. The north state team will do well at nationals behind a strong coaching staff.

If you watched the under 14 southern Logan was winning up until the last quarter Brisbane were tec fouled as one of the bigs had a tantrum on the court no 5 mins off the court called for that big even though the Logan coach brought it up. The Logan big was getting smacked around under their net while trying to score no fouls called big difference in fouls called in the first half compare to the second in the logan lost by 8. Dying to see how it places out in the Classics.

Sometimes you have to be careful what you wish for. Classics result BBI Silver 74 - Logan Storm 35.
Foul count BBI Silver 18 - Logan Storm 15.
I believe that's now 3 & 0 in the comments dept.

Yes, I understand that Logan didn't get a chance to foul when Brisbane was sinking 3s from the backcourt.
