Any predictions for the weekend??

Gold Coast over Metro's - 10points Coast will be out to shut down Teys and Sean early, with too many scorers.

Spartans over Runaway Bay - 5 points. I can see a shootout coming but Semerads will get it done.

Northside over Mountianeers - 20 points. Northside will be too strong & too well drilled.

BBI over Redlands - 30points. BBI - Too big, too skilled. Redlands might keep with them for a little bit though.

Sry mate was reffing U18s game so I didnt get to see them much, just kept hearing the board and ring getting tweaked. LOL. At half time I saw their 7ft big leap about 2inches off the ground and slam it home. Shame it took the U 18 lad 4 steps to get his. Was good to watch though.:D

When you get that good there are lots of other people who want to see you "show pony" as well! It's also probably in the back of his mind that it will probably be the last time he wears a BBI jersey (where he proudly played all his development years). Its a QLD jersey next week an Australian one after that and Washington State for the next 3 or 4 years and who knows where after that. Couldnt meet a nicer kid or less of a show pony than Brockum.

Could not agree more, not only that, the guys not as good will only become better players by playing against better quality. What I don't "get" is people bagging Brock out when he could have and probably should have watched.
Dickhead, consider yourself lucky that a guy with all his committments still loves the game and his grassroots to be bothered to play against chumps like you that are clearly nowhere near the calibar of person that Brock is.

probly because he happened to be somewhere his sister was playing and had his boots in the car and had 1 day free before going into camp with the QLD team and probably felt like a game of basketball with his mates? Isnt Redlands supposed to be all about basketball and enjoyment for the kids? For sure the smart ones who played against him will have learned some stuff especially about how to set a screen how to defend an on ball screen and how to block out. Smart coaches will have too so long as they stopped stressing about their ego and grasped the opportunity.

If they have potential and wanted to learn - they would have!

I've played Brock plenty of times through rep, classics and GBL and have never met a player who can teach me so much when I'm on the court. If I could have one play guarding him where I kept in front of made him change his shot - I'd go back to the changerooms like I just dropped 20.

He's the best player and has the most potential in the country right now for his age. He's the next Pat Mills or AJ Ogilvy, a 6'8 small forward that can handle the ball, shoot 20 footers, contain the guards and get boards over the bigs. He's going to be the next big thing to come from Australia.

Gold coast could be pushing for a minor premireship if they can keep ontop of their game for the last few games.

Runaway bay are on fire, beating BBI, SW and Spartans, loosing to GC by 3. If they can knock Gold Coast off in their next match, they will be top 4.

South West will have another couple of wins but I think they will be knocked out of the 4 by either Runaway Bay or districts.

Districts have lost their 2 best players, no height and limited bench. If some one can shut down Andy, they will struggle to get enough wins.

No doubt Gold Coast have some solid players. Jayden, Anto, Brent and the rest aren't stand outs, but definitly do the job.

But every team has a few solid stand outs, thats why this season is proberly the closest out of all the premier league comps.

Northside - Ben Lehner & the Daniel's are putting up solid, consistant numbers.

Brisbane - Can't seem to put together a team every week, which sucks. If they had Brock, Crombie & Denzel, maybe Cameron when he's back from AIS. No team would compete.

South West - Teys, holy shit that guy can flat out shoot the ball. With Sean and Ryan, they're very solid too.

Spartans - Semerads? Are they gone? They still have Wallis and Andy, both can score at will.

Runaway Bay - Adam Tyrus seems to be their man, dropping very consistant numbers, Josh Blundell, fundamental and consistant.

u/16's - played for nt for what ever reason, #1 in like 3 stats or something? 1 vote off all australian.

u/18s - 2nd in premiere league, shut down arguably the best player for his age in qld (brock motum) for a gold in classics. made the qld south 'dream team'.. made the qld school boys team that won gold.

u/20 - second on the ladder this season, averaging over 20points a game, won silver medal last season.

d-league - consistant stats, helped take gold medal, almost a state championship against tville.

possible aba player this season - if he wants to stop drinking.

not a groupie, just got a lot of respect for the kid.

Havent they worked out that no one wants to play under 20's. Teams are depleted and in awhat seems to be a dying sport past juniors why bother to bust your gut. Most kids are sick of the egos and politics

what a complete load of rubbish guys in this comp enjoy playing it has helped with some associations bridging the gap between d league and aba. 7 associations say diffrent and we have seen some fantastic players emerge. it only seam that as brisbane cant sort them selves out and look as tho they will miss out on the finals that some one no has to get in here and trash the league. There are no egos nor politics in this league as the guys are playing to play and the parents that sit here and cry foul over somone dominating the comp or the fact that they think their son is s@#$ hot when in fact he sux has left and made the competition enjoyable.
this has been a good comp for basketball its a true shame that we can't get a womens under 20 comp going hopfully soon but for now people need to stop trashing competitions and associations for what they are doing and get behind all involved. with basketball in the state that its in at the higher level in australia we do need steps of competition to take place and with the limited numbers that are able to play aba at 19 years old we require a path way so some othe fringe players can develop and become the future of the game. with uni college and ais committments if some our our better players in the state it has give the rest a chance and if we gain an extra player in the pth way from it we have won straight away.

Looking at the scores i bet Gold coast are gonna want SW to lose this weekend, while beating RB, allowing them to play a weakened BBI and SD team

Ric had coached me at a under16s state camp and he was tough but a great fella.

it was pretty good to be honest, i just sat there drooling on you.. torn hip flexor, gave it a few minutes but didnt play well so i sat, thank god i sat though, otherwise i wouldnt have been walking today, hey? but who is this?

I think Goldy to beat SW it all depends on Brendan Tees,if they stop him its game over.Seen some battles between Brent and Brendan.NS to win,of course that depends who turns up for Brissy.NS have been the most consistant team all year.

i believe that this semi final comming up for SW is going to be a lot harder than the final if they make it through.

GC is going to be a tough team if they are full strength especially with the home court advantage.

Ill agree, if GC can shut down B. tees then Gc will take home the win.

I'm going with a Goldy win,they beat them last start and should be to good by 10.I think Goldy

i havnt really herd of any1 in that team other than brent and anto just wondering what has gold coast done to proform so well during the season?

they have brent and anto as stated above but what makes them special from other teams
when you r vsing SW and BBI and bay and northside, who are all fairly deep in the way of talent,
are gc 10 deep?

Brent and Anto have played together before and know how to win basketball games. Both are talented players. Pretty simple really.

Anto and Brent are definitly their 2 stand out players by a long shot but Adam Brown is always solid on the point, John Nash is a solid role player. Jayden Tom will change 3/4 of the shots inside the key and give you some massive inside help which frees up brent and anto slashing, I think Nathan Brown (lanky swingman) can get hot. The others really just wear the uniform and try and look good, except for that fat kid, and 'swanny', they just fund the team.

The Wizards destroyed the caps in cruise control. Could of been 60 if they really put the foot down. Geez that crombie kid is a BUST. Looked too cool for skool but got his arse handed to him by the 3 nthside bigs. The big islander kid gave him the biggest touchup. Think his name is Issac.

The advantage is GC have over NW is that they had a hard grind out against SW the week prior, opposed to NW just cruising through and not trying.
so GC will be prepared for Saturday night comming

i dont know the GC team personally but stop hanging S#!T on them,
All players play a huge role on the team, and making it to the finals has proven that
they are more than happy to prove everyone wrong.

who ever made that note on "the other players are there just to wear the uniform and look good" is an idiot. every1 knows there isnt an 'I' in team and gold coast needed all 9 players to get to where they are.

Sounds like you do know them pretty personally so thats a lie.

I never hung sh*t on them. In fact ive never seen them play so I wouldnt know a thing about the team and what they can do. maybe they will wipe the floor with nthside who knows.

All I can comment on is that I did see the nthside boys and they put a hurtin on BBI, not just a win as u say. they really embarrassed them. And I was saying to the gold coast boys on this site (you know who you are) to not count your chickens just yet and claim the title. Looking forward to the game

Who ever wins tonight deserve it. Both teams have preformed well this season. And your right GC are 9 deep. Every one of their players give 100% when on the court. They will want it more tonight after going down in the final last year. Hope the game is close and the refs don't play to much of a part in the outcome. As for home court advantage, it could play a part, but GC have been beating teams away all year, and the home game against NS this season was the worst game GC played all year, they have learnt from that and will stick together. Good luck to both teams. Hope it is played in good spirits.

there last meet on the coast was nearly exactly the same, big run from both teams but
NW couldnt answer back in the forth quarter

Dont even know who was in the GC team except Anto, Brent and recently Nathan Brown. Surprised they didnt win it years ago with those guys but then I'm biased about kids who've won with me before. Brents just a dead set competitor who knows how to win and Anto is just outstanding when you give him some ownership of the job. Dont know Nathan but heard he's solid as well. Reckon last years 18's Maroochy team would have given them a shake if they stuck together but some got bogged down burnt out and injured playing at some schools tournament and some flicked the murky political world of Sth Qld rep basketball and got snavelled by sports with pathways like AFL. Dont know if Lachie, Jed and James will go as far as Tippett and White but from all reports they're lightin' it up. Deserved win for GC from all reports with the WIZ better for the experience now and ready to start making a noise in D League. (It's Brents cat that cant play...it just dunks and nothing else!)
