A bit of words and pushing dats all. Twice !!!
who were referees for the boys final game?
b) Hendo's coaching - So not all coaches get it right, the art to most teams is depth. That said you play your guns when you need results. Hanni is an average player. Couldnt even crack the just gone Brisbane Metro team, sure he can hit a spot jumper but cant guard a chair. Teo is a tough one, athletic as all hell, but so inconsistent. Is that a risk you take in a final? I have faith Hendo knew best. I am a big believer though you dont get better if you stop shooting the ball, especially if you are a scorer. keep shooting the shot will come. Sure you may slow down on any given night, but you dont give up.
Congrats to State high... better team won on the night - and thats why we all love this game
he has gotten it wrong 2 years in a row? and hanni did make brisbane metro but pulled out? looks like u know your stuff pretty well man. The bench should've been used, the risk of using a cold player on court is far more riskier than putting on a player on the bench, that when given their chances this week played quite consistently? yeah u dont get better without shooting the ball but u dont make the team any worse off by sitting your ass on the bench, showed the care of jeff when after a backboard pass by jim led to him laughing on the bench. its time to give it up, its not where you've been but where your at, and right now its not being beneficial to any of the lads at jpc.

Man, if you are going to talk about people knowing their facts, then maybe you should get it right! M Hanni was NEVER selected in the Brisbane Gold side, (Metros is the old name for the BBI no. 1 team) the side he was selected in was the Silver (2nd) side. He choose not to play in that side and later played U 20's for Brisbane.
As far as Hendo, I really do not see his coaching any different than it ever has been. Parents need to shoulder a lot of the responsibilty, they send their sons to the school. That is supporting the system/program at JPC. When the team of stars is inevitably beaten by a real team, they are the first ones to whinge!!
JPC players need to shoulder a fair share of the blame too, I mean you guys are on here pointing the finger at your coach, nice!! Strutting around acting like prima donnas makes a lot of you JPC guys look real silly. The passion and team spirit showed by a less talented BSHS is what proved to be the difference in the recent GF.
Problem is that will these boys/parents/coach recognise the problems or will they do what they have consistently done over a number of years at JPC? I got my money on the status quo continuing.

Hanni - I know my stuff really really well especailly in regards to this team and i can gaurentee you he didnt make it past trials. He played in the colts the year before and was cut after trials from the Metros that just won State this year
Even an outsider looking in would see he didnt make the team...The 6 guards they tool were McCarron, Wroe, Scheibner, BC, Willow, Westy. Where the hell does Hanni fit in with that? So it seems you have no idea and ill be waiting for my apology :mad4:
I didnt see all the game, so i am not going to comment on Hendos coaching of this game. Who was the 'cold' player? As said in my first post - yes if your off you should shoot less, not stop shooting. Also as i said in my first post maybe he didnt get it right, but im sure he had his reasons/logic for doing what he did. No coach goes out to lose a state final, and if he did yes maybe its time to give it up
Good to see the old tall poppy syndrome still remains. Lets knock Garrett- (Aussie Rep); Let's knock TSS (They should have won but didn't); Let's knock JPC (their team of ace players didn't quite make it). The way I see it basketball was the winner here with the Open A's mens and womens being won by 1 point and 4 points respectively. The Mens B bronze medal playoff was also a cracker of a game with St James holding off a fast finishing JPC 2 by 1 point. Effectively JPC were within 2 points of coming away with two golds and a bronze. That would have really given the knockers something to talk about. Overall a great comp especially with the huge number of schools turning up to compete in Div 2.

And that was a home game for BSHS with their refs. Heard the foul count was 30 to 11 and BBC still won by 15.
I reckon we will smash BSHS, we are improving all the time came close to beating BBC and with Jake playing well, look out Nudgee to win by 10

i think if you re-read it said bbc won by a small margin, 6pts to be exact. bbc deserved to win that game in gps. im sure bshs put some back on bbc by beating them on thursday by 8pts after being up by 20pts. and also bshs winning the state championship

Thats a joke. TSS is going to blow out BSHS tomorrow. All they have is laycock and maybe if his shooting was as good as his flopping and whinging then they would be in with a chance. They are not in the same league as TSS, Mountain Creek and JPC. Poor form on JPC's behalf for their behavior during this tournament. I was surprised they were actually allowed to play today. Most other schools would immediately force the team to forfeit as they have brought a negative image on their school.
BSHS won by 9 points, thats a good joke. hahahahahahahaha

how are BSHS winning?
in the competition stats, the highest scorer is Andy chen for bshs with only 38 points, and the rest are only contributing about 10 or 5 as well apart from laycock with 30 odd
No way, who write this. Both TSS & JPC have really talented players with high scoring points but with state high they play as a team and the scoring is shared around with the rest of the starting 5 not just 2 players.

Why is Hanni being rubbished? He played 1 grading tournament game for the 2nd team and felt that he didnt belong in that team. I saw him drop around 25 in that game being guarded by Tom Laycock and then pulled out. He was later asked to play 20s for Brisbane and averaged 16 a game in the 4 games he played that season? Last game was 19 against Andy Chen's Spartans team.. 2 of BSHS' main players?

everyone is hating on here but my opinion on the final was that hendo did not sub properly. Jim was shooting way too much and i think hit about 4 from 30 shots. Hendo left him on for some reason and that cost JPC the game. I am not going to blame it all on the coach, but the players that he left on made stupid decisions and as the game got closer and closer, he still decided to leave cold players on.
I dont know why julio never got on because watching previous games, he was their main rebounder and a good scorer from the inside. Josh played awesome in the final and was the only player consistent in that game.
As for michael hanni, his perimeter shot is outstanding when he is on fire and when given the opportunity. I think his name is mitch (some big guy on the team) had extreme ability and it was a shame to let Hendo throw all that to waste. As well as this kid teo who is known for his Grand Final scoring spurts. When this kid is pumped he will dominate and watching him play in the final i could tell he was beginning to heat up until Hendo took him off. Taylor Barry is a player averaging 30+ points at classics to getting no court time at all.
Jim shot too much and did not get to the rack, Carroll was good but was getting tired and slower every minute and Richard Morris' intensity was great but does not know how to control his abilities. So it was both the players and coach's fault really!

Everyone shut the F@#$ up man. Everyone thinking TSS vs JPC final need 2 shut your mouths. You already embrassed yourself by sayind that. You should be talking about State High's win, not how JPC lost. I don't no why everone is saying that State High fluked it because they showed everyone twice how really good this up and coming team really is. Yes TSS & JPC have the star players, but BSHS play like a team. You don't see them dunking in warm up's and showing off, they were just happy to be there.

I don't know why everyone's getting it in their heads that dunking in the warm up is deemed as, "showing off", for most of the boys its the last final that they'll play in, it's called a warm up for one reason... to warm up, idiots.

The reason why JPC wasen't scoring was because of State High defence not because they were cold. Same thing with TSS aswell. And with some pressure you can really see how both JPC & TSS really play.

I am not rubbishng Hanni. Just giving my assesment of him.
He is not a bad player, that said he isnt a great player. No doubt he can hit a spot up jumper. However he struggles to create his own shot and defence isnt exactly his strength.
I agree he was better than the 18s Silver team at BBI but wasnt good enough for the gold team. He played 20s which probably suited him nicely and i beleive he ahd a lot of fun doing so.
That said he is a good team mate and and gives his all.

I don't think that it is fair to blame the "cockyness" of the players, you can't blame the players that are "bought", the blame is focused straight on the couch, Jeff Henderson, he has his favourites and his stupidity blinded his rightful judgment in the finals.
Well done Jeff Henderson for choking not the 1st time, but the 2nd time against the same team 2 years in a row in a placing game.
