NBA Ultimate Fantasy Commisioner, who wants in?

I am thinking of making a league with members from this forum. It will be 2 divisions of 6 teams, North v South. It will be a live online draft tentatively booked for Sunday 28 October at 8:30pm (2 days before season tips off).

For those who play already, would be great if you could join. For those who have never played fantasy NBA before you should check it out at NBA.com, you will need to register to play (no cost involved). Anyone interested should reply here with info on whether you are representing the North or South. I will wait and see how much interest there is before posting the league name and password. First in best dressed.

Cool. When I have most spots filled I'll give more details about where to sign up. I booked the draft close to the start of the season so we have plenty of time.

Does the NBA.com comp work similar to that of Yahoo?

Never played Yahoo, but I think it is similar. NBA.com has a lot more options than any other site though.

OK I think I have set up the league correctly so we can have a North v South type deal. If you are keen on playing this is what you need to do:

1. Go to nba.com and follow "fantasy" then "ultimate fantasy commissioner". You can register at nba.com from there too if you haven't already.
2.Click on "join a league"
3. Type in "Basketball Queensland" in the space for search for private league.
4. You will be given an option of two leagues, both called Basketball Queensland. Ignore the first one, it is a mistake. Click on the second league (draft is 10/28/07 at 6:30am US time)
5. The password is NBA
6.If you are from the North, claim a team from 1 to 6. If from the South claim a team from 7 to 12.
7.You can browse all the rules etc once signed up, we have plenty of time with this so things can be changed if majority agree. You can also be removed if you change your mind.

Let me know if you have any questions. This is a head to head league, each category is a win. Playoffs included. 10 active players plus 5 bench players. Live draft on October 28 (Sunday) at 8:30pm Queensland time.

Vet, do you set daily rosters, or is it a weekly thing?

At the moment it is set to weekly. You have until midnight Sunday (Queensland time) to set your players for the upcoming week. I'm flexable with this though, can be changed to daily if people want to. Also doesn't have to be head 2 head, I don't mind roto either.

Have joined however im from the south and dont know how to pick the team number? i think it just allocated me one?

Nice. I think there is still some glitches in the system when signing up for the right division (North or South), but it doesn't matter because I can change it once you have signed up if people are in the wrong division. If you check now you should be in the South.

now that ive signed up, is there anyhting i need to do? eg in case i dont make the online draft etc etc

Not much you need to do. If you go to the league page, click on draft central on the left, then draft rankings, here you can adjust the pre-set rankings to suit yourself. When you save your rankings, players for you will be drafted automatically in the order you saved them in case you can't make the draft. I'll start to advertise for more players on this site as you are the only one who has signed up so far, but remember the draft isn't for another 3 weeks.

It's now about 1 week away from the live draft for the North v South fantasy league I have set up. There are still 8 spots remaining (4 North and 4 South). Time to sign up so we can make this thing go ahead!!!! See above post for details on how to join.

Just signed up, surely the draft order will be random? otherwise i picked the wrong team at 10 :P

Surely there is a way to do that? gives us all a chance for getting in the top 6 guys... especially since you said south are 7-12... already trying to get the edge on us Vet? lol

Thanks for joining. If you look at the league page I have explained that the draft will be randomised, I will do this once the league is full. If you know anyone else on this site (or anyone else really) who you think would be keen, try and convince them to sign up! All you Northern people, get your act together! Surely this is the place to find keen ballers who would be interesting in joining our little North v South competition.
