Gold Coast Basketball 50th Celebrations

It has been 50 years since the first ball was bounced under the banner of “Gold Coast Amateur Basketball Association” (GCABA) at the Rotary Youth Centre in Southport.

This year we will celebrate this mile stone with a number of events. The major event will be our Celebration Dinner which will be held at the Gold Coast Convention Centre. We are very keen to collect as much memorabilia as possible for a static display and photograph presentation as part of the event. We are also looking to contact as many participants as possible who have been involved in the game on the Coast over these past 50 years. There have been a number of distinct eras of the Gold Coast Basketball organization over the generations and we would love to have representatives from each of these time periods.

There will be other events featuring our present crop of Junior and Senior players and we would be pleased to have our present players experience a comprehensive display of the history of Gold Coast Basketball.

If you can help with photos, uniforms, programmes etc, or contact information of former players; please contact Wendy at the Gold Coast City Regional Basketball Association on 0755944108 or drop an email to gccrball@bigpond.net.au

We are looking forward to collecting and archiving as much history as possible as well as re-connecting with many of those who have contributed to this great sport in this great city.
