Northside comfortably over Caboolture. Tragardh should have a massive number's game.
Bundaberg will account for Toowoomba, the Mountaineers are real weak and Bundy have a good import.
South West should easily account for the Clippers unless Sykes and Gianni get on a roll.
Townsville's Tovey, Cedar, Susnjara and Jenkins should eclipse Canne and Broom.
In the match of the round I feel Rockhampton will win this one in a tight one.
Mackay to easily defeat Gladdy. Fitzgerald and Cook to good.
Clippers to chalk up a win, Toowoom can't contain Sykes and Gianni and Kenny.
Not sure on this one, will go with Gold Coast as they have McGregor and Gurney.
Heat should win this one led by Tovey over the veteran Caps.

why is everyone talking about Gianni, i have seen a couple of clippers games and he has been ordinary, kenny and izzy are the ones doing something at mdore, i know everyone says Gianni is not getting paid, SO WHAT i still don't think he deserves all this hype, in the week 2 or 3 pages someone said cheque books would be flying after the much anticipated matchup of Trigger and Gianni, he got whooped, trig dropped 40. give the kids a rap over him anyday is all i am saying,
clips to chalk up first win (watch out for josh tueta to have a big game with the lacking size in the toowoomba outfit, i think he can do some damage)
well it seems the economic recession has hit everywhere even the Ben does forum has hit a lull of conversation only 4 weeks into the season... with A National Code of Conduct being discussed for all sports all the QBL groupies are going to have to start signing waivers releasing us from any future indemnity from our tag team parties... i think movies will decide this weeks games..
Suns vs Wizards
New Harry Potter comes out soon i think that will be enough to inspire the Wizards for this one.. $35 on Wiz
Bulls vs Mountaineers
race to witch mountain wat was the Rock thinkin this movie sux and both the movie an the team have a mountain in it 1 + 1 + 5.. $25 on Bulls
Pirates vs Clippers
Pirates of Carribean trilogy vs The Boat that rocked... thats tough cos i love old school pommy pop music Captain Jack takes it in a close one... $5 on Pirates
Force vs Heat
there's no movie that i can think of that will make any sense but $75 on Heat
Rockets vs Meteors
X men a bunch of freaks thrown together to fight evil vs Watchmen some other superheroes also lookin to save humanity.. i love Wolverine $10 on Rocky
Power vs Meteors
Fast an Furious is going to beat the tired superheroes $1000 on Power...
Clippers vs Mountaineers
its Monsters vs Aliens here i'm going to congratulate Clips on ther 1st win of the season.. $50 on Clips..
Goannas vs Force
Godzilla wins $15 on Gc
Capitals vs Heat
Angels vs Demons love the book i'm sure the movie will be as awesome and this will be game of the round... $20 on Heat
in light of poor Matty Johns losing his job, reputation and lifestyle due to a money grabbin hoe you can just send your cash to him cos he's going to need it to support his family in these tough economic times...

Using those 2 movies the only conclusion you could come to is an Ipswich win. If you want to know why do a google search for "where is chuck norris" and hit the "I'm feeling lucky" button.
haha i'm not to sure how you think i come up wit this BS but my apologies i promise to spend hours researching my next topic endlessly so that i dont let you down anymore...

NBL's misfortune could be Yaralla Port City Power's gain, according to coach Blair Smith.
“It could be an opportunity for us to get some of these players,” he said.
Smith admits it is too late for the current season, but there is the possibility for 2010 that some of these players are looking for clubs.

Suns coach hopes for big things from US import (http://www.thedaily.com.au/news/2009/may/15/suns-coach-hoping-big-things-us-import/)
The Caloundra Suns are set to unleash their latest weapon this weekend, when American import Traci Edwards takes to the court against the Northside Wizards in round four of the QBL.
Edwards flew into the country just over a week ago, and has had a number of training sessions with the squad thanks to the Suns having a bye in round three.
The 188cm centre, who played for the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, was the Horizon League’s highest point scorer and the university’s all-time leading scorer.

This story brings up an interesting question for next year if the NBL plays an interim ABA/NBL season. How does that affect QBL eligibility..?
All-Aussie Snakes (http://www.cairns.com.au/article/2009/05/14/42491_local-sport-news.html)
"We talked about it informally but the prospect of fielding an all-Australian line-up doesn’t frighten us at all," Donaghy said.
"I know it’s a different competition but Cairns has won the ABA twice with an Australian team and that was with Aaron Fearne and Mark Beecroft coaching, so they certainly have the expertise.

There are a few players/coaches who are tipping against themselves...
Terry tipped Mackay to beat his Ippy boys, and it also looks like Nagas didn't really think his boys were going to beat Townsville...

And just what reasonable person do you think would back the Ipswich girls over Mackay? Pretty simple tip I would've thought. I'd be more interested if it was actually going to be a close game and he backed another team.
On another note, good to see plenty of identies on board tipping - love it.

Mackay teams make daunting trip to Rockhampton (http://www.dailymercury.com.au/story/2009/05/16/Mackay-teams-make-daunting-trip-to-Rockhampton/)
For the Mackay Meteors, any road trip provides a good challenge - but even more so when it includes Rockhampton's Hegvold Stadium.
Tonight, that is where the Meteors travel to take on the Rockhampton Rockets in the first game of their two QBL round four away games.
...the Meteorettes look to keep their unbeaten record intact with games against the Rockhampton Cyclones tonight and Gladstone Power tomorrow.
Missing from the line-up will be Cox and Tolo, who left Australia on Monday to play for the Opals in two international series.

Rush and her Cyclones team-mates are chasing a hat-trick of wins when they host the Mackay Meteorettes at Hegvold Stadium tonight.

IPSWICH Force coach Terry Lindeberg has backed misfiring sharpshooter Luke Cann to get his radar on target in this weekend's QBL double header.
Coming off an embarrassing 123-84 loss to Mackay last week, things don't get any easier for the Force when they host the Townsville Heat tonight at the Ipswich Basketball Stadium.
The Force coach isn't as confident about his team's chances in tonight's match, conceding he's already got one eye towards tomorrow's game against the Goannas.

Well at least we have Livestats .... sometimes ....
First big upset in the women's comp, with Ippy leading all the way to down Townie 60-55. Townsville are admittedly a shadow of the last few seasons, but are still a formidable team, and for Ippy to come through with the W is huge for them.
Would be great if the other centres got their act together so there are score feeds from the other numerous games tonight.
Maroochy men get their first win in a while, with an upset win over the Pirates.
Zane back for the Clips, Ammar in Pirates colours.

Nothing!!
I was at the game. The refs just over called everything. I thought the flop was gone! The refs must have called 10 flops. So all players at every bump off the ball would fall down like there was a sniper in the crowd. Then the refs whistle would blow. Had the ref said harden up fellas and get on with playing there would have been nothing to it.
All the players went hard not just Kruger or Jas.

Netregistry's an Australian company and by the looks of the hops in the trace it's not going overseas at any point of the process.
Either way, it looks like they either have some bandwidth issues or need to work on fine tuning the VOD player to run a bit better - Watching one of the games on my work's ADSL (8mb ADSL1) and it was stopping/buffering frequently. Maybe split up each game into quarters instead of having the full 2hr game?

speedtest.net gives an indication of your download speed,
if you cannot see the game without buffering then it is useful to know what your download speed is at that time.
for instance where i am at the moment 6am gave me a download speed of over 5Mbps which by 10am was down to 1.6Mbps and just now up to 2.4Mbps
Thats using telstra wireless modem.
No problems with buffering early this morning but a little around 10.30am
It is necessary to have Adobe flash player 10 (free install)
Oops, I forgot to finish that properly - "Why the North American option? Clicking on one of the Australian 'pyramids' would give you a better idea of your speeds".
Whilst I'm sure it's just teething issues on their behalf, it's fantastic to see BQ taking steps in the right direction in getting games online like this :)
the stream is uploaded to U.S. and distributed from there to a worldwide audience not just australia
sure testing locally is pretty much the same
Really? The site itself looks like it's hosted locally.. Probably explains some of the buffering probs then. Either way, it'd be nice to see them expand it with the ability to watch individual quarters (for "archived" games) instead of the entire thing (if it's technically possible with the technology being used for the stream of course)...

Having played with and coached Jason Aucoin and played against him I can only say that he is the sort of player any coach in the league would desire. Absolutely nothing wrong with intense desire and a hard nosed attitude and any successful team has somebody like that. As for Grant I would say he is just the same and a great fit for the young Meteors guys. To say that they are thugs shows total ignorance to the sport. There was very little in the game on Saturday to say anyone was a thug however the fantastic Rocky crowd can incite a game with their raucous (but fantastic) behaviour.

Was there for the Caps V Heat game.
Heat relied on number 24 the whole game and not enough power inside just got smashed. Heat coach got ejected after a terrible reffing call got him fired up lol 42 for Caps played pretty well and played better all over the court. Heat looked tired backing up from their loss to Ippy the night before and only 5 guys on the bench, 3 of which werent up to the standard. Some pretty poor reffing, poor shooting and average rebounding contributed to Heats loss and fell apart after their coach got ejected. 6 free throws (2 for incorrect unsportsmanlike foul, 2 for first coach tech, 2 for second coach tech) and possession of the ball blew out a close game and ruined it slightly.

Possession of the ball which turned out to be a 3 pointer, so after this little episode the Caps were up 10.

These two guys are good blokes.
Like this post says they both play hard and intense. That is what is needed for the next level and why they both have played there. Some should taketh the lesson.
The crowd was right into it to say the least. I hope Grant knows and I'm sure that as a player for a long time and how he didn't react too badly to it, that he was not personally offended by it.
Here in Rocky teams like Mackay and players like Kruger make it easy for us to sell it out. We welcome them here anytime and hope that they know that our crowd is not vindictive in anyway to them or any player in the league. It's all in good fun and I can bet that those who were chanting would buy him a beer after the game in the bar. I though it was the best entertainment I've seen in ages. Can't wait till their next meeting.

Reggie the mens!!
I did tell you Nagas he would have these numbers and be sitting on the bench after 30 min. I was wrong though in one aspect. I said it would have been against you guys. Can't be right all the time!

Are there only videos of rocky games? are there maroochydore games online?
most qld games are done from rocky as they were prepared to inc their internet speed for livestreaming so the sat nite game should be a livestream against maroochy,so you are in luck! Dont forget to download flash player 10 [free] to watch. We are looking to do other centres if we have the interest, there will be a small charge to watch games in a few weeks when our website is ready, as streaming is expensive!!

6 free throws (2 for incorrect unsportsmanlike foul, 2 for first coach tech, 2 for second coach tech) and possession of the ball blew out a close game and ruined it slightly.
the reffing was ordinary, but not wat cost them the game. freethrows cost them the game.. as a team missed 21 of 42 attempts. more than enough to take the win.

Yeah real great job. 2 points and 2 boards a game, somebody get that bloke an NBL contract!
Somebody should be talking up fellow ex-Leaguer Josh Knight (Logan). Getting 25 points and 14 boards a game in South Australia, tearing shizzle up.
Josh has about as much chance as Adam as making NBL but with only 7 teams guys like Rhys n Aucoin are going to find it tough as well...

No one ever said Adam was NBL. He did what was asked though for his team. You clearly are bitter and twisted about something but at least Adam has made an effort. Sometimes stats just do not show how much effort a player has made towards his team.
Adam has improved and no he will not play NBL. He is however playing and that is all that matters. Can I ask what you have achieved as I have no idea who you are.

Wow...QBL website has Rockets out to $2.00 against the 'Dore this weekend. If my punting knowlegde is right that would make Maroochydore favourites? Where can I take this bet, and do they take houses?

Nagas is your bookie writing for the QBL website now? Interesting point about guys like Rhys and Aucoin finding an NBL gig next year - what will that do for the restricted player rules I wonder? Could see most teams go all Aussie and Rocky will probably buy in 9 players instead of 4.

Jealous much? - Rocky work hard to get the sponsorship to make our teams what they are. If you did a bit more work with your team sponsorship etc.. you maybe able to have the goods that Rocky has!
Was wondering what happened to Josh Knight when Logan folded... always felt he was underrated and a major beast on the boards. Not surprised he is putting up those kinda numbers. Just throwin it out there that the Gladstone v Caps game this weekend will be a beauty, Gladstone look good now and given they are the 2nd leg on the double and the Caps boys don't mind a beer think it will be closer than ppl think. I've picked the Caps so Nagas if you could have a shocker that would help me alot... lol

I'm actually a Rocky supporter and understand perfectly well the need to recruit players for the team to be successful. Just making a point that things may get even more lop-sided than what they were last year with many NBL players looking to be out of work next season. Personally I like winning but it does take some of the fun out of it if the opposition doesn't even put up a fight.

Well put. Cheque book basketball isnt everybodies ideal but they work hard at the nightclub for their sponsorship so spend it how they want. Good on 'em. Keeps the bar high and gives the others someone besides Spartans to resent.
