Your right it is impossible, and I'll admit perhaps some Clippers bias but if I had to pick a 12 it would be:

PG - Brad Davidson
SG - Vern Robateau
SF - Billy Ross
PF - Troy Muilenberg
PF/C - Ryan Stolberg

Bench:

Scott Lloyd
Brendan LeGassick
George Butler
Joe Hurst
Aaron Grabau
Cameron Tragardh
Shane Nancarrow

Wow that is ridiculously tough, I can't believe I had to leave out Castle & Moose. Lloydy was so good for so long though and LeGassick just used to heat it up everytime I saw him play. It's too hard, good discussion tho.

How can you guys leave Darren Richardson out?

Biased But

I am very biased but also seen the league from the start. Some really great champions. I think though to be fair to all you must have played in the league for at least three full seasons. They must also have made an impact of teh success of the program they are in.

1. Aaron Honeyman, Howard Chambers, Brad Davidson
2. Damien Anderson, Glen Stump, Scott Lloyd
3. Aaron Grabau, Danny Morseu, Pop Dickerson
4. Billy Ross, Troy Muilenburg, Cameron Tragardh
5. Mark Dalton, Shane Nancarrow, Ryan Stolberg

Great players who will have missed out John (Gold Coast 80's) , Brendan LeGassick, Ben Thompson, Joe Hurst to name a few.

The debate will go on forever and it would come down to the coaches choice I am guessing.

Best coaching staff Jeff Timmins, Rod Popp, Mark Bragg, Bruce Palmer.

Managers has to be Big Joe. hahahahahah

I've only been watching what was then the CBA from 1990 but the Metors had a 6'8 Axe from Austria around 1990 or 1991. Haaken Austieford or something, and pretty sure he averaged over 40+. You cant have an all-time discussion without JC. Lock down defender at multiple positions, great hustle, smarts, range, scorer, facilitator, leadership but no left hand and unlikely to make the "Men of QBL" Calender. And are we missing possibly the greatest womens player ever to play in the Mens comp? I speak of Aaron 'Ace' Harding. Ha ha. Happy birthday, Playa!!

Muilenberg played with Rockhampton - led them to the Qld title and back-to-back National semi finals (the first just two years after the Rockets won the Qld wooden spoon), and won a CBA National MVP.

Many of the players listed by some never even played in the Qld State League/CBA/ABA/QBL. Lary Sengstock, Robert Sibley etc? Mate, they never played in the league, only NBL and GBL/VBA, never in between.

To try to pick a Greatest Ever Team of the Qld State League/CBA/ABA/QBL, rather than just an endless list of names, you have to at least compare what titles they won. Come on, some facts to back up your selections please.

I've been mulling this over for a while, and here's my top 10. Based on what I've seen from 1997 onwards, and only considering those who played 2+ seasons (so no one-season wonders). The majority of games I've watched have been at Maroochy, Caloundra, Spartans, Brisbane and Wizards.

David Bartholomaeus
Jason Cameron
Ben Castle
Aaron Grabau
Vern Robateau
Frank Norton
Paul Scott
James Smith
Cam Tragardh
Brad Williamson

For what it's worth, James Smith has been by far the best in-game dunker I have ever seen. I still remember the show he and Jabari Simmons import put on at Carina. One play he caught an oop and was practically looking DOWN the hoop.

Best play I've ever seen was Warren Hewes throwing down a one-handed putback off his own missed free-throw in a SX game against an opponent I can't recall. Just behind that is a halfcourt shot Jay Brettell hit on the buzzer for the Spartans against Brisbane in what was a great playoff series. I'll also give a shout out to the performance of a young Duncan Matheson (unheralded bench player at the time) who bombed his Clippers to an unlikely victory over rivals Caloundra in a fierce contest back in the SX days also.
