australia have Mills is one of four Australians who have nominated for the draft, along with fellow Olympian Joe Ingles, University of Utah centre Luke Nevill and Washington State big man Aron Baynes.

so what happens with Pat Mills now? broken foot, out for how long? 2nd round pick so no contract with Blazers. Can not go back to St Marys! Is he likely to get picked up by Blazers or another team, depends how long he is out for I guess? Looks like Europe or NBL at least for this year! Any info anybody

Looking back he should have stayed at St Marys for at least another year worked on his game, outside shot, man on man defense, ability to run a team etc and come out next year when the draft is not going to be as strong at least in point guards.

Thats exactly what Randy Bennett said but probably couldnt say too much without appearing self interested. Patty's biggest strength, his hard headed determination to succeed, may have been his downfall with this. He's a special talent however and it will work out for him longer term.

Yeah well, let's just hope Mills stays in the NBA.

I read today in the Courier Mail that David Anderson is off to Houston.

His rights have merely been traded to Houston from Atlanta.

Doesn't necessarily mean he'll be playing in the L this season - although it is promising if a team has gone out of their way to trade for him.

I should add that I recall a pre-Olympics interview with Andersen, who said he hadn't played in the Association so far as:

1) - He was financially better off in Europe
2) - He would get substantially more PT in Europe

Joe Inglis had some good Vegas Summer league games playing for the GSW. That said not sure they were good enough to get him a contract. He will be better after a year or two in europe as he needs to be more consistent and impriove his speed/defence. That said his size and wingspan has NBA scouts drooling

Patty is in trouble. Portland ahve alot of good guards which only pushes him further into the darkness. I see him playing D-league or being 15th man if he is lucky

NBA team wise.

San Antonia v LA and Boston vs Orlando are my picks for the final four. All 4 teams made excellent off season moves which just made them better.

Orlando picked up Vince Carter for spare change - definfite upgrade over Turgs. I think it is going to be tough for any team to guard orlando at present

Boston added Lewis and with a healthy Garnett - tough again

Spurs added jefferson which is exactly what they needed a good shooter that can spread the defence.

LA - picking up Artest over Ariza is massive. They also kept odom. Im backing LA and im not an LA fan

PS -cavs trading for SHAQ was a horrible move and wont help them. he is too slow to guard Dwight and cant give you anyhting offensively. let alone keep up with lebron.

On the Andersen thing.

Andersen was selected by the Atlanta Hawks with the 37th draft pick in the 2002 NBA Draft. On July 14, 2009, his NBA draft rights were traded from the Atlanta Hawks to the Houston Rockets for $2 million cash and a future second round draft pick. The Rockets then paid a $500,000 contract buyout to Andersen's Spanish club FC Barcelona. Andersen then signed a 3 year contract with the Rockets worth $7.5 million, with the third year of the contract being a team option.

Copied from a response to some article I read about him.

Boston Added Wallace, not Lewis, Orlando hardly paid change, they traded a team guy in Lee and got a sook who has amounted to nothing in his career in Wince, hasnt ever been a winner bar dunk comps, could be a great move, but could be awful.

Artest over Ariza is hardly massive, Artest could be a headcase year and stuff things up, Ariza is a smart, athletic leave it all on court guy, with the mins will be good, watch him next season.

Cavs trading for Shaq wasnt horrible, since they pretty much traded him for nothing, they strengthen there front line, he only needs spot mins sharing the front court with Vajero and big Z, and they picked up good support guys like Anthony Parker, Leon Powe ect.

Washington get Gilbert back, and made some nice moves over the summer, they can shake things up. San Antonio see there days are numbered so made some good moves, but has it strengthened them enough? who knows.

Will be an interesting season i think... Darkhorses for me in the West - Oklahoma and Clipps, out in the East Washington and chicago

Cavs winning it all this year: people saying Kobe is better cos he's got a ring can finally shut up.
Cavs v LA finals, with LeBron to go for 40 a game against LA, wrapping up Finals MVP, MVP, All Star MVP and DPOY.
Boston, if anyone, is most likely to challenge Cleveland.
Orlando losing Hedo Turkoglu is not made up with Vince Carter: sorry Vinsanity.
LA with no trouble in the west, interesting to see how some teams like Dallas go, and see what teams will scrape into the first round, like Phoenix etc.

Also Portland and Clippers will be interesting with their youth and some stud from OU last year

My guess is Kobe wont be better (how can you be?) his pinky is still not good, and he hasnt had a good rest for awhile. Cavs will be good, but Lebron wont get MVP, Finals MVP, All star MVP and DPOY, it wont happen, hes good, but...

East Top 8 - Cavs, Celtics, Magic, Wiz, Heat, Bulls, Hawks, 76ers. - Maybes - Pistons/Raptors

West Top 8 - Lakers, Spurs, TrailBlazers, Jazz, Mavs, Nuggets, Hornets, Thunder - Maybes - Suns/Clippers

come on cozza your prediction of cleveland winning it is so wrong its going to be a 5 team race between lakers and spurs in the west and orlando boston and cleveland in the east. i like orlandos chances dwight is hungry all he is talking about is how bad it hurt to lose to la and how much more determination he has to take that next step. as an orlando fan this pleases me so much.
insiders tip lebron to leave cleveland at the end of the year...

Sorry i meant Wallace when i posted. I still stand by my comments especailly in regards to cleveland.

Even they dont know if it will work out and i think they wil;l dump him and go after Bosh just to keep LBJ.

If the Shaquille O'Neal experiment doesn't work out in Cleveland, the Cavaliers could put the future Hall of Famer on the trading block.

O'Neal is entering the final year of his contract, which could make a deal more viable around February's trade deadline.

Such a move would allow the Cavaliers to acquire another big-name player next offseason when LeBron James is expected to hit the free-agent market.

Miami will be the team to watch for the season after, clean slate to resign Wade and another big name. but who cares about the season after yet, Lebro is in cleveland, lets worry about this season.

Agreed Portland are the team of the future if Oden can get healthy and find his feet.

Aldridge, Bayless, Rudy, Pryzbilla, Roy & Oden. THis team is 6 deep without trying.

Also notice on the Trailblazers website mills is in there as one of the 13 listed players yet most agree his future is very uncertain now.

Your missing a heap of guys, Andre Miller, Nicolas Batum, Martel Webster, Steve Blake.

Good vets mixed with some good young talent, this team drafts well.

Miller
Roy
Rudy
Aldridge
Oden

Blake/Mills
Webster
Batum
Cunningham/Diogu??
Pryzbilla

Thats a deep team, young yes, but have experienced the big stage, only going to get better, just like OKC is, just not the same level (but 2 years time)

Not a bad start for David Anderson with the Rockets. 11pts, 5 rebounds in 19mins. 50% from the field, 100% from 3 and 100% from the line.

Rockets lost by 9 to a good looking Trailblazer team, that hopefully Mills can work into, after officially signing at last.

Cavs are cash and as much as i would love to see LJ gets his ring to shut up those ridiculous Kobe fans who think that the ring makes him a better player unfortunately when King is off they have no real offensive threat so that's not goin to work in a 7 game series..

Orlando Portland are better then Cavs and although i dont like it Boston is the team to beat this year even with injuries they can beat pretty much anyone..

Boston definitely looks like the team to beat but I'm not really a fan. Lakers man and always have been. The bench for the lakers really lets them down. Shannon Brown has been performing well as has Josh Powell. Other than that the lakers bench will be their achilles heel though that might change when Gasol comes back.

Suns are my second team, they've got off to a good start and Nash is killing it. Amare needs to step up though. I doubt they will be able to keep up with the upper echelon of the NBA though.

maybe its the small computer screen i'm watching it on but he's looking even bigger this season... good to see the big guy going well, also heard Patty is officially on the roster as well although i think it maybe a little while til he's getting decent minutes..

"upper echelon" i like it

That was innnsssaaaannnneeee. A rookie, 55? He's going to be good, maybe best in his class. While Blake hasn't played yet, Tyreke Evans, Jennings, Ty Lawson, Johnny Flynn have been insane.

David Anderson with 19 yesterday vs the defending champions, Lakers!

Great to see him getting the chance to show he can match it in the NBA. I have seen a few of his games and his offence seems to be his strong suit. He doesn't seem to have the aggression or body size to defend the centre position however.
