Can I just stay it is great to see some Australian Basketball on Tv,but how boring was the game against Boomers and Nz. The shots were a disgrace, defence they all looked like they were sleeping, uniforms boring, main players weren't playing, some exciting music during the game would of been nice, I think there was one slam dunk the whole game no exciting moves the big for Australia looked like he was trying to do post up moves for the first time. God have we got so much to learn.

In the fullness of time my friend in the fullness of time. Oceania qualifier against NZ isnt exactly the world stage and Brett obviously thinks he can get it done with the young benchies for now. Hope he's right and the basis is there for the next step.

Is the big your referring to Natahn Jawai, he scored 17, and is on an NBA contract, I'd say his post moves are ok.

Very strict rules on what can be on an International Uniform, most teams are pretty boring. Same with Music, Different rules for World Champs, Oceania etc .... to NBL so limited on how much music can be played while the ball is in play.

Is a young and inexperienced squad, but good enough to get the Job done. Much rather Australia play boring and win then Flashy and lose. To keep NZ to 77 with players like Kirk Penney out there, Defence can't have been that bad. And Australia losing Worthington day before shook the rotation a little.

Which other "Main Players" weren't playing. Patty Mills is injured and David Anderson preparing to play for the Houston Rockets. Jingles played, Newley Played. CJ winding down and didn't play, so team looking ahead in blooding Delevadova

Sorry it just felt there was something lacking I love Australian basketball, I guess watching NBA all season big difference. Yes I ment Jawai big man he just seemed to be out to far for his post moves and then rushed it. I just expected Australia to win easy against NZ for some reason (not to offenced NZ you have great players) and missed worthington one of my fav players. Just said how our felt during the game.

You might have a point mate. That was embarrassing tonight. NBA players NBL stars celebrity coaches, man they had it all and got smoked by a bunch of blokes who could play. Take Newley and Dalevedova out and that version of the Boomers look ordinary. Boy Goorj must be laughing his guts out in China.

Did someone from NZ read my above comment and pass it on to the team ? what a big difference the second game was, just a shame someone didn't do the same for Australia. Although I did like the darker version of the uniform.

Forget what the boxscore says, I agree Jawai played well below of what he is cabable. Post moves were basic and lazy, and shot selection was poor at best. For someone of his frame, I expected him to use his size and bust a nut on NZ inside. Always seemed to take the soft option.

At least NZ giving us a belting in G2 will wake up team management. I expect to see a much stronger squad in the future.

That was an absolute disgrace! I'm embarrassed. I'm a crazy hoops fan and even more passionate Australian and I think we deserve an apology from the players. Ingles bailed our arses out in game 1 plus we had the home court. Only reasons we won. Jawaii's post moves were rushed, only went one way and were falling away or too far out against a smaller opponents. Someone needs to show him tapes of the Admiral and Shaq. DUNK EVERYTHING!!!

The kiwis ran multiple picks every time up the floor but our bigs refused to bump, show or talk. Newley half arsed it defensively, Forman is weak as p1ss and wont play D or rebound. Did someone explain to him that the 4 man is the enforcer on a team? Better shooters havent been picked for Australia so he better pick his act up.

Apart from Penney we had better players at every position. The only reason we lost was heart. And for some reason we kept running high post action thru Jawaii for slashing guards. I didnt know he was renowned as a passer. Terrible!!! Did anyone take a charge? Nearly every kiwi screen was moving which sent our trailer higher so why didnt we squeeze the fcken things?

Well, I think someone passed my comment on to the Aussie Team. I tried to show them some love, so they pulled out all stops to play worse than game 1's effort. Very dissapointing performace from the Aussie's.

But I don't want to take anything away from how hard the kiwis went at it. Showed real heart and intensity. Great Alley-oop dunk in there too.

Aussie's really don't look to have the same defensive intensity they had under Goorjian, hope it gets fixed before the next major tournament. More importantly I hope we don't spend the next Major Tournament like NZ spent the Olympics, at home watching.
