The draw for the BQJBC is currently being constructed. It will be available online and with your Association from Monday 8th October or shortly thereafter. Please be patient as we build this huge draw.

Love the idea of a qualifying event - creates a much stronger Premier League...see some discussion in u18 boys premier forum. However...2 X 10 minute or 8 minute halves - ridiculous..this is not a game...

surely they could have had the qualifying over three nights/days and played full games.. I would like a dollar for every time I have won a game after being down at half time..or lost after been up at half time.. Basketball is a game of attrition....fouls, fitness,fatigue, strategy etc... 2 X 10 halves was a bit of a joke...

I spoke to quite a number of coaches over the weekend, at different age levels....same conclusion...loved the qualifying process...hated the timing regs...something to work on for next year. I think this will make Southern Cup stronger as well. Well done BQ on the initiative.....but make it "realer" - is this a word - next year.

Fair points Freddy. I think main reason for 8 minute halves etc was lack of court availability, so that's why qualifying had to be done this way. But as you say, hopefully (associations) can suggest different options beforehand (not a week before either). For example, the proposed format etc was put out 2 1/2 months prior to BQ holding a meeting about BQJBC. They received no suggestions on grading etc. So at the meeting those involved had to come up with the best possible situation under the circumstances.

I've already made a couple of suggestions to Steve about next year. I'm sure he's open to ideas...

I'd like to see where possible grading for Sthn Cup also. I think you might find some pools much weaker than others.

Funny that most people liked the idea of qualifying and divisions. Considering BSQ competition was exactly that and yet it was ditched for the PL format.

Had a parent on the phone today asking when they can come and see their kid play a home game. Didnt know what to say or how to explain it. Is there an "information Release" for that one?

Maybe you could say that it isn't the easiest job to slot in about 200 teams to play every week with limited court space.

Draft draw was out a few days ago and should be finalised very soon.

Or maybe the parent could get in their car, with their child and drive to and watch them at an away arena? the furtherst south is Gold Coast - 30mins from city, and furtherst north is maroochydore, wouldnt be any more then an hour and a half...

Its not that far, so if you really want to see your child play, go where they need, either that, guys at bq arent sitting around twidling thier thumbs holding out on you, its a tough job. I want the draw as much as anyone, but chill... it will be done before its needed, we wont get to week 3 in rep with people saying where are we playing and againt who... just chill

Then why did we push under 20 games to Saturday's from Sundays if we are already crowded? PLease do not tell me it was about court space as that is not true. In round one Districts could easliy have played BBI on the Sunday.
