i just bought a xbox 360 and nba live 08 today but have to wait til 8pm tonight when i finish work to play it!!! ahhhhhh, cant wait.....i didnt know there was an international mode as well which is good....france, germany, usa, greece, argentina,russia and spain....which is awesome

btw does anyone know where i can get march madness, or whatever the college hoops game is here in australia??? for ncaa???

for the NCAA college hoops game, you'd have to hit up eBay cause I've never seen a college sport game of any kind in aussie stores. As for the whole Live vs 2K, reviews for both games seem to be pretty average. On PS2, 2K8 got a 7.5/10 and Live 08 could only manage a 5.5/10. Are these ratings justified though?

benny, i played it.....then traded it in the next day for stranglehold......i got it for my 360....

my issues....

1....it takes honestly around 5-7 mins everytime to load up a game....
2. the game play feels so robotic....
3. its so unrealistic the way defense can just take the ball off you all the time
4. and the post moves are almost always travels that the ref doesnt call

there are a few good things that i liked tho

1. international comp i thought was the best new feature.....i was spain and we caused a major upset against team USA.....
2. the crowd atmosphere was great
3....the trivia quiz when u wait for a game to load up is pretty cool...but then i just remember ive been waiting for the stupid thing to load my game for the last 5 mins....and wondering whether its been frozen or not

i traded it in for stranglehold as i KNOW 2k8 will be so much better....it feels way more realistic and i honestly believe live would come back better this year, but then i always think that and they always make an idiot out of me

NBA 2k8 is better than NBA Live 08.

2k8 has great graphics and way better realistic gameplay. By the way, if you haven't seen NBA 2k8 on PS3 with HD TV, it is just amazing. Looks almost like real-life.

I have both of them for my PS3.
I have found after months of playing them that 2K8 is better on a number of grounds.
1. You can create teams, in which I've created my school team were we whooped a team of CP3, KB24, LBF, KG, Dwight Howard etc (I didn't put Steve Nash in cause I couldn't bear to beat my favourite player).
2. The Gameplay is more realistic i.e. you have to work to get an open shot, they don't just automatically fall, and you have greater control over plays like screens, pick and rolls and cuts, whilst also having a greater selection.
3. The Association is much better than dynasty mode.
4. The Game feels more complete.

NBA Live 08
Pros:
1. Better graphics
2. More fun to play with friends.
3. FIBA teams (although this could be improved i.e. still playing on a regulation NBA court, rather than a FIBA court, using Spalding NBA balls rather than the Molten balls, having more teams like Australia, Lithuania, Serbia, Russia come to mind, why would yu have China?)

Cons:
All shots fall practically
2. Not as much control
