Today it was with great sadness that we learnt of Anne Berry's premature and sudden death.
Anne has worked at SW Metro for nearly nine years and been a very important part of the development of SW Metro.
Anne worked tirelessly with the junior referees at SW Metro encouraging and supporting many young referees to seek pathways within SW Metro and then at the next level as referees.
Anne worked hard to develop competitions for SW Metro and to manage the stadium on a day to day basis.
Anne always sought to solve the every day problems and develop the sport for the betterment and enjoyment of all.
Anne will be missed by everyone at SW and those of us who have moved on from SW Metro.
Rest in Peace, Anne and thank you for your dedication to this sport,
You will be truly missed,

Truly a massive loss for our sport to lose somebody who worked tirelessly for it's benefit like Anne. Especially at such a young age. I first met Anne recently after she had moved up from down south, and have always known her to be extremely giving of her time, and truly quality person. My best wishes to out to her family and close friends. Rest in peace.

I would like to echo Penny's thoughts concerning the contribution that Anne made to basketball at SW Metro and how much she will be missed by all of us who knew her as a friend and as the coordinator of the Tuesday night Ladies competition at Runcorn High School. She will be remembered as hard working and totally committed to the basketball community at SW Metro and in particular for the dedication and love she gave to the young (and older) people who she taught to become referees. She taught, encouraged and supported her charges tirelessly and a HUGE gap is now left by her passing! We will remember her as a fair and quiet achiever in her administrative role and as a happy, loyal and engaging friend, always willing to lend a hand but asking nothing in return! The shock will take a long time to pass but our small part of the basketball community in Brisbane is definitely better off for having known Anne and we will benefit from the contribution she made for much time to come! She was taken too soon and we will all miss her terribly.

I've only recently heard of the passing of my refereeing mentor Anne. This is truly a sad event in SW history :(
