Those all star selections are a bit out there?
Coupland? Upton? Rupa?

You could pick the squad on the top 2 teams alone.

Watched a handful of wizards games and the athletic dark haired kid always seems to be up there in scoring as well as defending the other teams better players, not sure on his name, but if you're gonna throw any name into the hat his may as well be in there too.

Nick Favaro is the kid u mentioned.
Ur right, in the top two there are some contenders.
I would put Upton and maybe Coupland. Not Rupa though.
Tyrus and Hayden could be there also.

NS win at home by 4 in OT. 61-57?...
Both teams went punch for punch in a thrilling game to watch.
Both teams played excellent D for the whole game.

No real standouts but alot of solid contributers on both sides.
Caboolture showed doubles and triple teams to NS post game as NS played high intensity on on their end of the court.
Game could have gone either way but NS looked stronger towards the end as Cab started to tire out, maybe a lack of depth?

Next week's game will be a great one and good luck to both teams.

yeah think we definately did tire towards the end. Loosing Filipo cheaply didnt help us. its also hard when your biggest is 6'3 95kg, compared to 6'8 120kg. but not making excused they played tough the whole game, my jaw got re-alligned a couple of times. best game ive been involved in for the whole season, full credit to the wiz kids. Sioutu hit some massive 3's to help them along.

all in all we were happy with our performance but a lil dissapointed we didnt take our chances.

good luck to them next week,

Matty

Agreed your boy got raped by the refs for some shocking calls which narrowed the size down a bit more. I had my doubts towards the end in the come back thort huchin was gonna bang one on us towards the end again . well played guys hopefully we can get the win against runaway

Everyone's talking this and that about Bay, Caboolture, South West and Northside......and that's fair enough. But if Gold Coast get all the players that are thinking of playing next season they are going to be niiiiice....think 2 seasons ago when they won it all.

Josh black suited up but not playing, and bay cruising 34-22 at the half. Wizards need to pull something special out to get the w. Can't believe this place doesn't have springback rings!!

Game tied 41-all at 3q. Bay still looks the better team but have stalled on offence, and the wizards have scrapped their way back in. Game mat be determined at the charity stripe.

wow must have been a good game, congrats to the wiz boys...have to say that not having Josh Black for the whole game definately would have made the dif though.

nut in the end all that matters is that wiz got the W. guess that means that on "paper" suns may have had a good run against the bay as well

Good game Sat. RB deserve the win on the day, Josh Black class act. See you in the finals Coach Wilson NS

That was then, this is now! I did say we would "see you in the finals". RB displayed their normal resilience & determination to win, hence their impeccable record, and quality coaching staff. Our players yesterday showed depth & character from yrs of blood sweat and tears to deserve the championship win. Well done Wizard men! High regards for CB for a great semi final and season. Respect for RB and their success. It's a privilege to play, it's an honor to coach my team & my son, and awesome to be a part of a ligament progressive development league program. Thank You Mr. Ben D for this site and for your 'constructive' comments. I can only hope it will be used in the future for 'credible' comments. Cut the crap boys. Coach Wilson North Side Wizards.

Filipo Get real lets have some real noms

Not sure that is too far fetched. If you take a look at some of the other names out there, Mines (SW), missed games due to injury and getting back from over seas, Barry (Logan) missed games from being over seas, Josh Black (Rbay) would split votes with Zac Compton (Rbay) every week as well as mabe with Filipi or Tyrus. The Wizards ABA players probably didnt play enough games to get it but played enough games so that maybe Favaro wouldnt get enough points.

After that who else is there? Did seth or Zeke or Josh from Maroochy play enough games (not sure about this one). Coupland for Ipswich was injured for half the season. Maybe Kabe from Ippy has a chance? Im not saying that upton will get it but it doesnt sound as far fetched as you make it sound when you consider other deserving players and their situations

The wizards aba players played every game they could. I think that the guys like Siotu and Dan Missingham played more than enough games and put up MVP numbers on more than one occasion. Aswell as these two you have like stewart who ran the team all season long and had some big games with near triple doubles....

Problem with those three all putting up numbers is that they would be splitting the points each game.. no one else this season would have taken uptons votes each game and he played every game. that might be biased coming from a team mate though.

Oh Bay...so untouchable all year and then squander it and choke in the finals. What happened to your star players come crunch time? That's the time that separates the true players from the pretenders. If your a so called star in your team and you have 10-15 points on a losing effort, well you might as well not have shown up. Season mvp don't mean shit guys....

Haha, I wouldn't call them pretenders, dickhead.

Bay didn't loose the game, Wizards won it..

Give both teams credit, Wizards won when it mattered but a 25+ win streak is a bloody hard thing to do, especially if they are pretenders.

BLAH BLAH and basketball was the winner in the end right?

Let's not sugar coat anything here people. Wiz may have played ok in the finals but I'm pretty sure Bay had more influence on the final result more than anything. Was Bay favourite to win all season? Did they show their dominance convincingly by beating teams week in week out by a considerable margin? Um Yes and Yes. Did they lose to a team they should have dismissed easily based on such a winning season. Ummm..Yes Again. Well sorry to say it folks but that would classify as CHOKE in to me...in any language and in any sport. A thing called pressure comes to mind here, read about it. lol. You people on this post are just a little too precious don't you think?

Not really.

Bay beat the Wiz by 10 or so point during the regular season with the Wiz missing five of their 'top' players.

A reversed result, with the Wizards at full strength and Bay's Black missing most of the game would hardly be considered a shock result.

This bloke!! The bay had that close game with Wizards in the season and a game against the other team that went to OT with the Wiz in the semis the suns when they didnt have a couple of ABA guys and they beat them by 50 so not a good reflection.. But they only played them once... The winning streak of 25 or whatever is nice but beating toowoomba, redlands and gold coast or whoever they played twice isn't such a massive achievement.. in saying that they do deserve congratulations for still playing at a high level week in even against the weaker teams..

everyone in their right mind knows that if josh was fit and played the whole game it would of been a massive blow out... Considering what josh averages each week points and a million assists it would of been a very convincing win if he had played... I hate it when people bad mouth Josh because there is no question he dominated and stood out more than anyone this season and its a testimony to his determination and committment. Not one person could guard him off the dribble and not once did i see anyone beat him off the dribble, he is a true all round point guard with hardly a fault in his game. Strained hip flexor was why he only played the last 6mins and let me tell you he had about 10 pain killers and he couldnt walk for 2days after that game all for 6minutes in the last quarter... the bay average about 35-40 points in the first quarter but with no black they only managed 18 or something. Says alot about josh and his assists.. he is off for bigger and better things and people that really know him definetely know he is going to be successful in america good luck bro

I think we're talking about #6 from RB, yes he was a standout player. As a coach of one of the D League teams, no disrespect to my guys but we had noone who could contain him. I would love to see him matched up against other QBL guards, I think he would hold his own no probs. All the other props are well deserved - assists, play maker (when there was nothing on), good shot selection, tough defensive player. Probably the one guy I would say was consistent enough to be the league MVP.

Whoa lets not get carried away. Fact: Josh Black averaged 14pts a game this season and contained to under 5 pts in a couple of games too. No disrespect to Josh but if he's going to be an impact in the States, he probably needed to be putting up at least 30pts a game in D League. They're a bit bigger and badder over there.
