seahawks dleague side 69 - GC Gliders 64 - Seahawks up by as many as 15 at one stage. Gliders have a lot of work to do as they were not sharp offensively or defensively. Seahawks boasts some young players who really stood up.

The neers had 2 games in NSW against coffs harbour and balina. This was 1 of the 1st times they played together and with only 7 players players won the 1st game quite easily and lost the 2nd by 2. Note that the 2nd game was pretty much a game to try some new offences and defences so they let a big lead slip in a trial and error sitution

that was the womens team right? they also had a few aba players in that team that wanted to have a run before the season starts. i think there would be a closer result with a pure d league roster.

Good point I think NS will get up for sure they are going to be a top 3 teams this year.. But also no win for Bay??? Bay did win the D league comp last year by more the 30 points ?! The only players they are missiing this year are Anto who isnt playing at all this year and Daniel who is playing with the GC goannas. I think you need to do a little more research before tipping!!! 1 pt win for northside. Close game right to the end. NS came out strong win a lead of about 4 for the first qtr and a bit. Logan then turned to a punishing inside game to take and mantain a lead f 4 for majority of the game. Wizards came up with some tough defense and couple of vital steals to put them up 3 with under a min to go. Baru hit a three to put logan within 1.
Barry finished with 27

R Bay men look fn scary! Would venture that whoever beats them wins D League 2010. Heard the Bay women beat GC ABA women last week in a trials match too. Could just be the differing standards of coaching between the two but could be a pointer to the value of building your bases strong through D League before going to the ABA next year.

Because Mdore had their D league team of which 8 u/18 playing and winning the schools state championship at Calonndra over the weekend and the senior team played in Bundy on Saturday night. 23 points is not being shut down..regardless of wether it was first half, 3rd quarter or he had 23 in 23 seconds it doesnt matter thats not being shut down. plus he has been the go to guy for a couple of years now. had 28 on runaway bay when no one else did anything to trouble the scorers.. I will ask this "If he doesnt play who will score?" dont say 'tom' because he wont score on the caboolture guards. taylor may even struggle to do that

Not true. The eligibility rules are based on the individual, not the league, or team.

Yeah, they are now bu they weren't at the start of the season when most players committed to their teams. At the start of the season if you played QBL alongside a paid player you would lose college eligibility (or a partion thereof).

Pirates @ Suns, nothing really outstanding about the game. Without jono pirates offence looked a bit dodgey at times. Adam Upton got hurt fairly early and the pirates made a bit of a come back before losing it all at the end.

Hopefully the rematch later on in the season proves to be a better game with both sides at full strength

And just because they're scoring the most doesn't mean they're not filling up the stats sheets in other ways. Big fan of RB's team this season, Josh Black must average 10 assists a game, Zac and Adam Tyrus would have 10-15 boards apeice.

agreed. look at caboolture. hardly anyone has a 20+ game yet they are consistantly in the top 4 every season (except for their ABA programme...lol) deep benches and great develpment makes a winning combination in this league. dont think their should even be MVP voting in this league, seems silly to congratulate someone who can just fill the cup up.

The *TEAM* is far better then the other sides in the comp. Sometimes with out a loss or a few fights, a team can fall apart.

The 2 U18 boys for suns were fantastic to watch, both of them capitalised on their oportunities and certainly didnt look out of place in the team. Great to see them get solid minutes. Good game for the redlands spectators to be a part of too, fantastic comeback.

i think it will be wizards and runaway bay as well.

although caboolture did beat northside, but lost to ippy on the weekend by 20 or so.

maybe thats why noone is talkin about them being in the final.

caboolture do have a good roster and if northside and suns meet in the semi finals should be a good game. still think wizards to get the win especially if josh black isnt there. he and the big guy were a handful to stop on the weekend, granted wizards had 4 of their guys away for qbl duties

3 of their starting 5 are 19, 1 is early 20's. Average age is 20-21 as most of their bench is 18-19 with exception to the old balding guy (no offence, don't know your name) which is a smart move by the coach to bring some one experienced in.

Spartans are calling for interested players (male and female) looking to be involved in our 2010/2011 "underpinning SEABL squads". You must email sdbal@bigpond.net.au to get a formal invite. No walk on's allowed. Players advised by email when and where (late July).

The squads will be coached by coaching staff from the 2011 SEABL program with the intention for the teams to play in the GBL Gold Division in coming season.

We will not be playing under 20 or D League preferring to focus on the GBL as a development league for players with potential who want to be involved in SEABL in coming years. Players will have to commit to training every week plus playing in Monday night or junior competitions conducted and managed by SDBAL.

Positions will be limited with trials being held. Players from other Associations are welcome to try out.

SDBAL has some definate plans for programs in 2011 and this will be only way you can access the program other then a personal invite from SEABL coaching staff.

Anyone interested can apply but must do so by email to above address.

Interesting to see that Brisbane Capitals had to use four of their ABA players to beat Seahawks women.

No different to what other teams in boh the mens and womens comps do.

A cursory glance shows that the players you refer to have all played 6+ games in D League, so there shouldn't be a sook that they played the Seahawks. By no stretch of the imagination are they regular/solid contributors at QBL level anyways.

Was a great game to watch. Northside's 14 point lead had evaporated to 4 with 6 mins due to SW team offense and Mines connecting on everything. Then NS bigs started to run riot on the boards and inside shots, SW just didn't have the size to handle them. Had an 11 point buffer with min and a half to go.Mines with 30 plus, Dano with about 30p 10r , Isaac with about 15p 15r.

I believe it is, although it should be changed to a more rewarding 1v2, 3v4 format instead. Winner or 1/2 goes through, and loser gets a second chance against winner of 3/4. Don't know why it's not being done now??

Watched a handful of wizards games and the athletic dark haired kid always seems to be up there in scoring as well as defending the other teams better players, not sure on his name, but if you're gonna throw any name into the hat his may as well be in there too.
