[Jacaranda Appreciation]

many a time have I ventured toward the wonderful bosum that is the Jacaranda Tournament.

Grafton comes alive this time of year, when the deliciously vibrant jacraranda tree is in full bloom. Purple tears drip the streets and the mighty clarence river flows strongly amongst the lush backdrop of this old Australian town.

The basketball is always played in good spirits and the nightlife is exquisitely random. Who knows what local act will provide the soundtrack to your golden weekend.

You see this trip is to be taken with goodfriends who appreciate the simple things in life.

So who got up in the Mens A GF between Frogs and Entertainers?

Overall a good weekend for those who went there to play some ball and have a good time off the court. Shame the Entertainers (in all grades) treat every game like it's Game 7 of the NBA Finals. Also a bit ordinary when we had the organisers threatening to forfeit us if we didn't ref a game for them ugh. Won't stop me from bringing the boys down again next year though.

Entertainers won A grade this year. Your right, it was a great weekend.. Don't understand what u meant by shame Entertainers and carrying on as if it's game 7 of a final.. You need to wake up to yourself buddie.. Lets start of with our Veterans team.... How on earth did any of my Vets guys carry on like they were playing NBA finals? once u can answer that one i'll move onto our other teams..

Sick and tired of negative a-holes like you painting everyone that wears an Entertainers uniform with the same brush as you see the world..

We play once a year in Grafton, still manage to win alot of games and have a very good time with mates that have known eachother for well over 30years..

As mates, it doesn't get any better than that and met alot of great friends along the way too..

You aren't the sharpest tool in the shed are you if you cannot see what i've explained above. Maybe you need to have a rest for a while in a Kellogg's Fruit Loop Box because at the moment I think your are the biggest fruit loop on the planet.

actually I totally agree with Ben and anyone else who bags out the entertainers, they're spot on. did your boys play in the right spirit of the game when you started the fight against byron bay this year? don't even try say your guys did'nt start it, down 20 and angry the refs could'nt win you the game.
your teams rely on the refs to let your bullying style of play get you through games and hey, thats grafton and I enjoy the physical games too but your boys take it to a new level.
In saying that, there is some decent blokes in the group. Also it's thoroughly enjoyable beating an enertainers team knowing that you dodged enough elbows and won in spite of the refs giving them all the calls. and after seeing this years final, which was a disgrace by the refs to let you continue in this "style" of basketball, I would like to see some more teams from up north come down for the tourney and phase your bunch of knobs out, because apart from 1 or 2 solid players, the rest just through their weight around.

I agree. I’ve been to Jaca on and off over ten years, and each time I’ve found the Entertainers to be a pack of c***s. Certainly wouldn’t have a drink with them off the court. Arrogant pigs. Even worse is that when they’re on the court they’ll have their dickhead mates sitting on the sideline trashing the opposition whilst cheering bully antics. Hardly carnival spirit.
Chris I like that you’re passionate, and there were one or two ‘normal’ blokes there this year, but for the most part I can’t stand your boys either. If you want more examples just gone, look no further than the Vets who waved to the crowd after the won their final … only one problem … there was no crowd??? Or your ‘C’ Grade team who were good enough to win B Grade ugh.
Would like nothing more than to see your blokes beaten, but I don’t think Grafton is important enough for anyone else to bother putting a decent team together. Well done on your organization at least.
