Strange that Ippy is travelling to Gladdy for only one game, and not facing Rocky/Bundy before or after .....

I think there will be plenty of games decided by wide margins this round. My picks is the Goldie men travelling to take on Northside on Saturday night - imho will be the closest game of any.

What's the word on Feretti not playing for Ippy last week? Injured?

well well well some big POD match ups this weekend that could change the way we look at our full state comp and make you ask the question has the POD domination finally ended? i say no but i guess we will know more on Sunday afternoon at around 4ish..


Cairns v Caps
although i dont think they will trouble Cairns, the big fish lost to SW and i'm not sure we they are at as a team.. the odds on this game will be the closest they have been in donkey years which is a long time just ask Shrek.. $23 on Cairns

first of a VERY INTERESTING triple header for the new look Rockets, Clips dont take to many shots inside the key an they will take even less in this game.. interesting double header going from a big slow team to a medium sized fast team.. both of these teams like to shot so look for big scores one of them in favour of the rum drinking plank walkers.. $52 on SW

So i'm picking this game as my game of the week, Rocky has played 2 other games by this time been driving an staying in hotels for 2 and a half days.. if they were fresh i would say this would be there game no question BUT as i said earlier bundy match up on these guys better then others because they play a similar way and run a similiar sub rotation will Phelp be the difference they need to score? if bundy dont win this game they will never beat Rocky ever ever... $3 on Bundy

Maroochy leading Rocky by 4 in the last quarter, and scored tied with 4 mins to go when game-high scorer Golson fouled out - but surprisingly the visitors poured it in after that to go on and win by 13. McDade appeared to have a quiet first half, but beasted the second.

Just back from watching the Wizards men lead from post to post to down the visiting Gold Coast by 25-ish.

Difference was the home side's shooting from outside, with Bubbles, SD and JD shooting a ridiculous clip. Bubbles and SD shot at least four in a row each in the first half, and JD went on a spree and canned four straight of his own in the second.

Goldie's talls troubled Northside rebounding/positioning/looks wise. Plenty of embarrassing misses from point blank range though which hurt, with the Wizards guilty of the same offence many times as well.

I haven't seen the stats but Bubbles had 24 at 1/2 time and probs finished with 40+. Tally littered with triples, free throws and finishes to the hoop. JD had 20-ish and SD high teens. Petrie appeared to be in cruise control and wasn't dominant. Scored in bits at the start and end of the game and pulled down a few boards, looks to be still finding his feet playing at the 5 and understanding what he can't get away with at this level - seemed to get pinged for travels and fouls that would usually have been left alone ... Goldie got done for the same stuff too so at least it was even.

Not sure what went wrong for the Goldie, I thought with Gurney, Aucoin, Gleeson and Tilby they would've point more points on the board. Was waiting for them to assert a bigger presence on the game, and not a blight on the players themselves, but nobody ever got going and posed a consistent threat. I assume Adam Darragh had a niggling injury as he only played a few minutes? Chris Dunlop scrapped well at times and Robert Manson/Jayden Tom seemed raw but will comes good with a bit of polish. Kopittke I love ya, but you're the only unfortunate bloke I've seen airball a free throw to the left of the hoop!

edit: it would be remiss of me to not mention two remarkable plays from the game. First came from Bubbles who had the rock in the corner with the game one minute old. He went up for a three and his defender (don't remember who) got a piece of the ball - Bubbles pretty much grabbed it in mid-air and chucked it towards the hoop and splashed it, high degree of difficulty. Second came from Gleeson who threw a halfcourt lob to one of his bigs in the last quarter. Instead of finding its mark, the ball got nothing but net, amusing stuff that had the refs bewildered for a moment.

Hey ben, pretty much agree on ya report. Those 2 plays were funny. But my favourite play would still be bubble's dunk, considering the difficulty of that too, how he caught it from behind him etc. I think i would like to add to your report, that the wiz played some pretty good D overall. Also, i think the reffing was pretty interesting in the 3rd quarter, and even the scores in that Q reflects that comment too. Im definately not hating on them at all, it just changed alot. Maybe they just drank too much red bull at the half :)

Dale Iwanicki had 34 points at 43% and 5/9 3's 5 rebounds, maybe needed some more boards to get it but with out Anthony Esparza power still got the win through dale and Keith Borgan big efforts
