Townsville vs Cairns - Great match-up here, two teams that in my opinion are a rung below the top tier but would be finalists in another finals scenario. Chris Cedar would be close to a return and his bunch scoring is much needed alongside Daniel Egan who is a consistent inside-outside threat. Deba George has been a great distributor with the Marlins and Dwayne Vale is a solid scorer. TIP - Heat by 4
South West vs Northside - A good southern game. The Pirates with young stars in Brendan Teys and Zac Carter alongside Tommy Ammar, Troy Thompson and Steven Broom. Chris Goulding is the league's brightest star and he, alongside Shane Davis provide a potent one-two punch. TIP - Pirates by 9
Mackay vs Cairns - Now this is another thriller. At home, the Meteors are as tough as it comes. A deadly scoring punch, a vocal home crowd and a good coach. Coenraad and Blanchfield are two brilliantly versatile athletes and Rhys Martin and John Fitzgerald are an awesome ABA backcourt. Dean Brebner up front needs to play well and Jeromie Hill could provide some interior presence. TIP - Meteors by 13
Rockhampton vs Bundaberg - Rockhampton, I feel have improved since Cameron Tragardh departed. Not only does Ryan McDade add a league best 17 boards per game but young guard Mitchell Philp seems as though his college experience has made him into a great player. With Reggie Golson running the lane they are a tough cover. Matthew Hanson will be tough to stop but without more help he will struggle. TIP - Rockets by 14
Gladstone vs Toowoomba - Whether or not Anthony Esperaza plays will be vital to the Power's hopes this season but not in this game. With a dynamic backcourt and Ianwicki scoring heavily the Mountaineers will need Steven Glover to light them up. TIP - Power by 23
Brisbane vs Caboolture - The Capitals are young and inexperienced and the Suns are almost a two-man band. Thalo Green has been so solid and Williamson has scored but not had the big games expected. Drew Phillips and Kurt Thompson have been handy in a couple of Brisbane wins. TIP - Suns by 11
Bundaberg vs Toowoomba - Toowoomba visit the Bulls here and, following a tough game in Rockhampton the Bulls should re-focus and do business. Matthew Hanson will be able to score at will here and Kyle Kiernan is a reasonable guard. TIP - Bulls by 18
Gold Coast vs Maroochydore - The Clippers, at home are a strong side, yet on the road have struggled. Zane Meehl and Gianni Costiantello are strong and Scott Kenny pops in and out as does Isiah Tueta. Shaun Gleeson, David Gurney and Jason Aucoin are all QABL veterans and will provide the Goannas strike force. TIP - Goannas by 7

Spider is not staying, seems immigration and BQ are fine with him staying and playing but BA has not been as supportive and Anthony will be leaving us shortly, we hope to have him back next year, as he is such a good team player and a nice fit for the Power.

slightly off topic although some would say none of my posts are on topic anyway.. how good were them Queenslanders on Wednesday night, working yesterday was like extracting teeth with a hammer an then when the hammer didn’t work using a butter knife to wedge them out but I would do it all again including the birthday suit dunk for such an awesome occasion.. Another round with some good match ups this weekend lets get it on..

Kerry Williams needs to step up this week if Cairns are going to be any chance of getting that 3rd play off spot.. I think Chris an Michael will play this game that’s not based on any actual fact but I think seeing the Mighty Maroons smash the blues has inspired both of them to lace up an step on the court.. If Joey Johns was assistant coach for either of this teams he would be getting sacked cos these two teams have the most Indigenous players an we all know how he feels about the black c….s.. anyway this game will be a corker I’m putting $15 on Marlins in a close one..

I watched the clip of Shane’s 12-19 rainbows against us during the week on facebook still very impressive especially when you see someone pick his nose an he still hits the shot so can the Sniper bag another 36pts from beyond the arc?? One thing is for sure Carter needs to shoot better then 14% from the arc if SW are going to get this one although they lost last week I definitely think they have the team to win more games just not sure why they aren’t.. $24 on NS

Tough weekend for Cairns boys, someone told me that mackay sold out of season ticket holder spots this year if it’s true that’s awesome and games like these are what the crowd want to see… two of the best PG’s going at it an Vale on Tim or Todd will also be good.. expect some sparks in this one maybe not Inglis on Beau Scott sparks but tension none the less $20 on Mackay

From one good crowd to another there’s always a debate over who has the best personally I think Mackay’s crowd is a little more polite but both still create an awesome atmosphere to play in.. so i’ll vote for mackay cos I haven’t heard the Nagas is a wanker chant there YET but there’s always next time so I’ll let you know in 2 or 3 weeks.. good test for Bundy to see where they stand compared to a certain semi-finalist an odds on Finalist but also a good test to see if Mcdade can dominate a 4 big rotation like he has been on everyone else.. $30 on Rocky

heard from the locals at Auchenflower that our game down there was the biggest game of the year to date which is surprising I thought given they are the biggest association in the state they would have a few more bums in seats although if I had to choose between watching the game an going to casino I wouldn’t be at ball.. Suns need this one to justify spending dollars on players and given that the heart has been ripped from Auchenflower I think they will get it, I wonder what the after game food will be like??? $27 on Suns

My love for the Magic Johnson era Lakers is the only reason I cheered for them today, one of the most overrated players in the game got another ring but had little to do with him this game lucky for Kobe, Ron Artest earned his contract today.. Mack if you want to bet on the Rocky v Bundy game I’ll be more then happy for you to slide some money over the counter.. i'll finish with BA are festering boils covered in horse turd..

i think if you watch the highlights again and see that that was the only decent D gladdy played on shane.the rest of his makes were either wide open or in rythym with a hand getting up way too late. you can't let a guy that good get so many great looks,schoolboys.

There was no fight in the rocky bundy game, the refs were totally inconsistant as per usual this year and made a bad no call when that shaq guy from rocky blocked him going for a layup and reggie exploded at the ref as well as shaq or whatever that guys name is at the ref, then for some reason lloyd lewis got involved and got what looked to be launched from the game, but then the ref took it back and changed hes mind which was incredible and the last few minutes were chaos, just another horrible night for the referees who cannot control the game and for whatever reason seem to be getting worse and worse every year and bigger and bigger egos. It's a shame that they think they are the centre of attention sometimes and need to understand it's about the 10 players on the court and not about them.

To the previos poster, I believe that the incident that is being talked about was not in the bundy vs rocky game. It was actually in the Bunday vs Toowoomba game.

There was an altercation between christian kennedy and one of the dickenson boys during this game, I am told that there was a headbutt involved. Both players were ejected for the incident. Mike McDaniels was also ejected for leaving the team bench to come onto the floor during the incident.

is Mcdade injured or did someone shut down him down?? he was in the running for WOW award this week with only 6 pts in 31mins including 0-9 FT's but he was saved by the rest of his Stat line which looked great as usual..

Then as the other Dickerson kid is D-ing up a drive to the basket CJ steps into him and throws another elbow and gets called for an offensive foul.

IE rocky vs Bundy game...

I was actually at that game and was watching the whole situation. personally, i thought the no foul call on Reggie's rejection was correct - i didnt see anything wrong with it. I also got a hold pf the video after the game and watched that as well and i still stand by the refs no call decision. The way reggie responded to the referees was really unneccessary - especially chasing after him to continue questioning the call AFTER the game had finished. doesnt surprise me that he got reported for that.

As for your comments about the referees being inconsistent and unable to cope with the games.. i simply LOLed... one of the best referees in Australia was on that game and dealt with it all. and of course the young official who was dealing with Reggie and the bundy player was going to maybe make a mistake when they both came at him.. from what i saw.. he only looked like, 18.. 19?? if you were that age and you had 2 people in your face abusing you.. what would you do?? i personally do not think the refereeing this year has been all that bad.. yeah a few calls here and there may go astray, but overall it hasnt been too bad.. i think spectators are just getting more and more caught up in the game and trying to find someone to blame when things dont go there way. i used to be a soccer ref and reffing definately isnt as easy as everyone seems to think. another thought too is that these guys get flown up from brisbane in order to help out rocky, an association with not many senior officials. they give up there weekends to help you guys out and allow you to have QBL games and all you do is abuse them with some of the most disgraceful comments i have ever heard. keep it up rocky, and sooner or later maybe you wont have a QBL season cause all the refs refuse to give up there weekends to cop shit from you guys.
