Ipswich Force vs Townsville Heat - Luke Cann will surely hear some from his old mates but Chris Cedar and Daniel Egan will be too much for Ryan Stolberg and the Heat are too deep. TIP: Heat by 14.
Gladstone Power vs Cairns Marlins - Cairns will make a tougher than previous years trip to Gladstone here, Kerry Williams, Jeromie Hill and Deba George provide the punch whilst Derrick McDonald, Keith Borgan and new import (Name eludes me) are strong. TIP: Marlins by 8.
Caboolture Suns vs Brisbane Capitals - Time for Brad Williamson to stand up, I can't see anyone being able to contain him, he just signed with Townsville Crocodiles and his shooting ability is brilliant when on-song. Jason Curtis had a great game last week and will need more to grab the win. TIP: Suns by 7.
Mackay Meteors vs Gladstone Power - Gladstone will venture into Mackay to meet a powerhouse scoring unit in the Meteors. Fitzgerald, Blanchfield, Coenraad and Martin are too hot to handle. TIP: Meteors by 13.
Northside Wizards vs Brisbane Capitals - Christopher Goulding and Shane Davis will be dangerous here and with Anthony Petrie in the line-up Brisbane will not be able to contain the output. Goulding may have 40 as may Petrie. TIP: Wizards by 14.
Gold Coast Goannas vs Townsville Heat - The second of three matches for the Heat, Gold Coast will be a good match-up for a Heat team thinking about 3 wins on the road. Veterans Egan, Sleight and Newnham should help secure a win TIP: Heat by 7.
Rockhampton Rockets vs Cairns Marlins - 3 years ago, this was a match worth travelling 10 hours to see. Nowadays, both sides are still strong yet not once they were. Can McDade provide some scoring, can Williams and George fire. TIP: Marlins by 4.
Maroochydore Clippers vs Bundaberg Bulls - The Clippers will fancy themselves at home here. Zane Meehl, Scott Kenny & Isiah Tueta will be the dangers for the Bulls whilst Matthew Hanson and Willie Shackleton are powers. TIP: Clippers by 3.
South West Metro Pirates vs Townsville Heat - On the back end of 3, the Heat face a stronger Pirates squad. Broom, Cameron, Teys, Ammar & Niesler will provide the fight whilst Tudehope, Walmsley, McCully & Rees will need to step-up. TIP: Heat by 3.
Northside Wizards vs Bundaberg Bulls - A competition of the Wizards outside dominance to Bundy's inside strength. Hanson v Petrie will be a highlight however Goulding's bunch scoring may too much. TIP: Wizards by 7.
Toowoomba Mountaineers vs Gold Coast Goannas - A nothing game here out in Toowoomba, Shaun Gleeson, Jason Aucoin and David Gurney should get the Goannas over the line. TIP: Goldy by 14.

is nello getting a suspension for throwing some bows and getting ejected from the game?might get a week or two if BQ are consistent.

I was wondering about Nello as well. Two big games on the weekend that will determine if Bundy has a shot at the playoffs, and they'll certainly need him.
My picks for the best games to watch this week;
Brisbane @ Caboolture: Whilst the Suns have been woefully out of form, they'll want to bounce back after last week's trouncing, and no time better than to get another W up on the board against somebody they've beaten comfortably a few weeks ago. Will be interesting to see how Thalo plays after his poorest game in recent history against the Pirates. On the other hand, JC and the kids will come in full of confidence after dusting Bundy.
Cairns @ Rocky: not much needs to be said here. I have noted that Kerry Williams hasn't been outstanding so far this season, certainly not numbers you'd expect from an NBL player. Whatsup?
Townsville @ South West: providing they dust off Ippy and Goldie, the visitors should still have enough energy to get up for this one. South West will obviously be fresh, but I don't think they've been playing to the potential of what most expected pre-season. Teys v Lil Cedar should be cool.
As for the women, we have a probable GF preview with Gladdy travelling to Mackay. I think the Power will go through the remainder of the season undefeated, but there's a few who think Mackay can knock them off their perch.

I dont know... Powers 30+ point wins over Cairns and Townsville last weekend was pretty impressive on a road double. Mackay are good but Northside thought they were good too??

Townsville topped Ipswich in a close game. Daniel Egan with a big 3 near the end and David Sleight making some free throws were key. Chris Cedar with 22 points, 3 rebounds & 3 assists.
Forward, Egan had 22 also but grabbed 14 boards. Kirk Newnham was good with 11 & 8.
For Ipswich it was an even contribution from the usual suspects.
Gladstone stole a good one at home against Cairns. Deba George had a shot on the horn to win however he missed and the Power won by 2. Keith Borgan was good with 20 points and 7 assists. The Power were strong on the glass. Kerry Williams was once again quiet.
Down South, Brisbane backed up with a strong win over a poorly performed Suns side. Brad Williamson was mis-firing with 1/9 3's and Thalo Green was strong with 35 and 13 but Jason Curtis backed up with 28 and the Capitals won a good game.
Great performance at Gladstone night in between the mens and womens game.
Cairns who have many Indigenous players in both mens and womens and Gladstone aswell had the opertunity to play during Naidoc week. Aaron Nagas organized it with a Tribal dance and Didgeridoo. Was great to see and I think both teams really injoyed it and then was followed by a fantastic game.

Mackay women by 10 against Gladstone - Gladstone's nightmare road trip probably didn't do them any favours but Jess and Nat did themselves no favours either with their outbursts in last quarter!!!!I once held them both in high regard, but unfortunately after that display, not any more. We all have losses at some stage....some just cope a little better than others I suppose.
The match up back in Gladstone in a couple of weeks will be a game not to miss!!!!!!!!!!

Or dodgy calls...
Isn't it funny when we loose that the immediate reaction is to blame the refs..........maybe we need to look at some stats.....shooting percentages/rebounds????????? Team work????????
Wiz 61 bundy 51 in women. Turner and Giles battled well for bundy, but katie harris' shooting and rasmussens height got the hosts home comfortably. Time for the men ...
Wiz 41 bundy 36 at half in the men. Looked like it was going to be a long game for bundy when bubbles danced down the lane and threw down a vicious one hander, but the visitors fought back through the energetic play of will shaq and at one stage led by six in the second. Shane Davis sparked a late surge to see northside reclaim the lead going into the half. Anybodies game with bubbles, Petrie and hanson yet to find rythmn on the tight rims
Wiz escaped with a ten point win over a valiant bundy side, the game not decided until the final minute or two. Bubbles and hanson both had big scoring halves. Will shaq very quiet. Difference was perhaps wiz petuntse shots and hustle, which Josh van damn played a big part in. Maroochy can rest slightly easier tonight cos a bundy win wouldbe made the race for the division second seed extra tight. Play of game bubbles slam in opening minutes or will shaqs oop down the lane from a Rocky inbounds

It looks to me as though at end of next round both Bundy and maroochy will be 6-9!!
With 3 games to go after that... Does anyone actually know the real tiebreaker.. Is it head to head with margins OR overall percentage or record vs division etc etc
think it's important we sort this out now so everyone on same page cuz quite possible to come down to last game ippy vs maroochy Bundy vs northside
looking firward to seeing what happens these last 4 weeks.. Cairns Townsville trip by maroochy could be telling if they somehow sneak one of them I think they are hone. Bundy should take care if business v goldy at Bundy!
POW should be straight forward this week.
MEN
Dan Egan averaging 20/10 in a successful three-game southern road trip (incuding a tough one-point W over the Pirates at the back end).
WOMEN
Rach Allison goes 36/21 to help her team to a victory in battle of titans v Power
Lock it in.

Egan huge in a great weekend for Townsville.
Jeromie Hill had good numbers in Cairns over Rocky worth considering.
Good times in next few weeks with potential playoff spots not being decided in any pool until the last rounds....

no one on the rocky team will blame the ref mate they choked... and will tell you if they give up a 17 point lead with 4 to go then good on cairns for not rolling over and fighting it out to steal a great win sure there was some dodgy calls but it was going both ways so play it out.... was an awesome game.... the rocky crowd was as always rowdy and gave it to the cairns players and when they won they cairns boys gave it back to them which if your willing to dish it out rocky fans then you need to be able to take it when they come over and give it back to you.... should be interesting when reggie gets back rocky looks like they need his scoring out there pretty bad

Yeah there were some really dodgy calls from the refs (or more accurately "ref" since it was the one guy making every dodgy decision) going boths ways but they really shouldn't be blamed for the Rocky loss to Cairns. The calls weren't made so close to the end of the game that they directly cost the game. Rocky really still should have managed to protect the lead and it was just a few bad decisions and some hot 3 point shooting (not to mention Kerry Williams) from Cairns that did it.
massive weekend of bball with alot of close games going down to the wire.. pity i didnt get to put some odds on the cos the bookies would of made some money on two of the upsets..
firstly my boys over Cairns was a nice win, great night with us holding a NAIDOC celebration with indigneous welcome to country and dancing between the mens an womens games.. i know the crowd loved it as did the Cairns staff and fans travelling with them as they said they will holding something similiar next year..
BAM an the streak is gone most thought that the Rocky home court streak would of held out till the Power rolled into town for the last game of the season but Cairns boys showed some ticker an got up.. i would of loved to have been in the crowd for this one although it doesnt surprise me bout a rocky bogan trying to fight a player especially because they lost they love to give it but dont like it when they get it back.. its not the first time an i doubt it will be the last time a Rocky rumbum gets their knickers in a knot this year..
saw a clip of Bubbles dunk in bundy traffic it was cash but not as cash as the alley to Candy man (Ray Canady) to poster up Toddy B or his other alley in transistion with barlow an someone else duckin for cover..
SW with 3 of their top 7 players shooting under 20% is gettin them the WOW this week, imagine how much reading that stat sheet hurts after the game when you lose by 1 in what was a great chance for another win over POD ..

If it is just a 2 team head to head then it is straight head to head split between their games played against each other. No other percentages matter.
For 3 team tie's it is a bit more complicated i think but cant see any of these happening anywhere at the moment anyway.
isn't QBL website doing POW anymore, seems to be missing 2 weeks of awards now??

Seems our FULL TIME QBL staff member has been busy doing other things (nationals). No wonder this comp can't get any respect, or sponsors.
