Not alot of traffic through U12G Forum, so I thought I would pop and say a few things.
Thank goodness at this age group we are not seeing much movement between associations or the 'carry ons' that is alledgedly happening in the U14B SD team, and the focus is developing fundamental skills with these young players.
I hope in these early years that these kids are taught to play for the love of the game and leave all the 'political' antics for when they reach the older age groups.
Seems to me that some parents need to step away and start focusing on what there children want and not how they can manipulate the selection criteria process in order to get their kids in to an elite team.
The Rep Season is due to commence soon, so all I can say is good luck girls and train hard and importantly LISTEN to your Coaches......hahaha

Ipswich should win this one, even though we should have won it last year, again, this year should be our year. We have 6 bottom aged players from last years 2nd place state championship team. Fingers crossed and good luck to all.

No doubt Ipswich will be strong this year. Would say the favourites to take out the competition! Not sure why you think Ipswich should have won last year though. They lost every game to the team that won both PL and the Classics. Good luck to the girls and l look forward to seeing what happens.

All this talk about Ipswich being favourites is very premature. Only one thing is certain in under 12 girls, you don't know what you get. Each year a team jumps out of the blue to suprise everyone because it has an influx of top age club players who haven't played rep before, because they were too young. Remember bottom age players are in year 4 and top age players are in year 5. The grading weekend will give everyone an idea of where the teams are up until this point, but it is a long season, you have a big holiday in the middle and the improvement in this age group is enormous. So I suggest we take a deep breath, hop on board the roller coaster and enjoy the ride.
With regards to last year Spartans were clearly the best team, to go through the grading weekend, the whole of the regular season and the state championships without having a loss speaks for itself. They had great players who played as a team and were expertly coached. No more needs to be said.

If only all coaches could be like you Dave, I'm the mother of one of the girls from last years SD team and to see the girls become the best of friends throught classics and seeing each at the airport on the way to Melbourne it makes you think that this is what sport should be about, giving it all you've got and having fun doing it without all the politics goes along with the sport. A tip for new parents to rep, remember they are only 9 and 10 years old girls and as much as we"d all like to win sometimes the biggest lessons come from the games you lose.
Well done Dave and keep up the good work.

Well the weekend is over and I am sure there are some tired young girls. It was a great grading tournament, Gold coast did a great job running it, games were pretty much on time. I thought the refs did an outstanding job over the weekend. they were clear in their calls and there was very little confusion. The ref coordinators were great and from watching most of the games there was no controversy at all. Most of the refs were young kids and they will develop well. The competition was v good and the skills from all teams were excellent. There were some real good close games and the competition will be close this year. Well done and the comp starts in 3 weeks, make the most of your free weekends.

I agree, and look forward to the season. First time U12G coaching and with a great bunch of girls who are new to playing Rep Junior Basketball. Thoroughly enjoyed the grading and did what we needed to do to ensure a spot in PL this year. Look forward to seeing you all around the courts.

Why ask a question when you already know the answer? Just say that you are glad to have him coaching your daughter instead of beating around the bush.

Ahh pretty sure its not one of my parents and if i'm not mistaken i think it is a veiled attack on my character. Be careful of what you write people as everyone watches.
To the Maroochy coach i offer my apologies.... I will attempt to offer them in person during the season. I understand your viewpoint and that was my ignorance in thinking every team comes ready and playing proper man to man in half ct. I impress upon my girls to man up and only person in key should be help side d. When i sent 2 cutters through and your girls sat in keyway i thought the worst and my reaction was not good. Again i apologise. It can be difficult i know.

Here is your Premier League for 2010/11
Ipswich, Spartans, Logan, Seahawks, Maroochydore, SW, BBI, Gold Coast
Ok we have 3 more sleeps before it starts. Say goodbye to weekends.
My tips for the weekend
South west v gold coast - sw too strong
Ipswich v Brisbane - Ipswich too strong
Maroochy v logan - match of the round but Logan will win
spartans v rb- great match both sides will finish high on the ladder. Spartans at home
Should be a competitive season and I am sure the families involved are really looking forward to seeing the players improve.

Don't remember 100 points being scored in an U12 Premier League game, well done Ipswich girls. Their U12 girls program looks impressive for the second year in a row, obviously in good hands.
And for the record, I'm from BBI.

Yes Ipswich do have an excellent program, but not just for the second year in a row, it's been a few years now where Ipswich have been focussing on the development of all our age groups. Majority of these U12 girls have been playing for a few years now, maybe 3,4 or 5 years. Much of the credit should be given especially to Brett Kajah, the Comets President who has worked tirelessly on the basic fundamentals with majority of this group. Also his Ipswich Force Pre Season Academy, focussing on developing players OFF season too. Ipswich work all year round to develop their children. His hard work shows, and so too does the work of all our club coaches and program coordinators. Very rarely can a representative coach be handed a whole team with such talent and ability, and with such depth. You should also see the Under 8's and Under 10's program currently operating at Ipswich Basketball. Look out world, here they come.

This is very kind and greatly appreciated but any coach will tell you that you can only go as far as the group will take you. We are fortunate to have some of the best young talent I've seen in many years and they crave knowledge, game time and will run themselves into the ground - all ingredients for success. I have also been supported by the Board and a host of parents & some of the older rep kids wanting to come back and teach. We are a small association right now but we are determined, united, proud of our city and love the challenge. Go Ipswich!

It's great to recognise those that actually had a hand in the development of the Ipswich under 12 girls team. Go Brett. You are awesome. All those voluntary hours you have put in are paying off. Thank you for the time and effort you have given my children too. They have learnt a lot from you. You must be so proud of these girls.

Dave did a great job here at Brisbane. Look at how much the girls have developed. Yes it is unfortunate that we are not competitive in most age groups, maybe we need the kind of program Ipswich are currently operating, with their spe^^^^^^ed coaches as mentioned above. I am grateful for the time he put into my child who is enjoying the game even more. Thanks Dave.

SD Spartans over GC Waves - Gold Coast great point guard, if you take her out, Spartans will be all over it
Ipswich over Logan - rematch Top of the Table clash from Grading, although it will be close
South West over BBI - SW very good on the boards, and bigs are agile. BBI was missing a big against Ipswich, hopefully with her return this week, we may see some good contesting on rebounds
Seahawks over Maroochydore - Seahawks up by 10, Maroochydore will need to try and shut down Seahawks point guard.

Young Ms Heal must have played a cracker of a game. That is a huge effort for under 12 girls. Goes to show what talent is in these younger years. I believe she is bottom age player, watch out for the rest of the year and next. I cant remember anyone scoring so heavily in this age group before, must be a record. Well done and keep up the great play

Logan were very unlucky not to win against Ipswich on the weekend. They outplayed them for thee and a bit quarters. They have a great coach who has them well structured and the development at Logan seems to be first class as well. Well done girls, you will beat them next time.

Great effort but I think that a certain Miss Mckenzie had 50 points in a classics game in the U12's and there have been a couple of others I know of in the high 40's. Mel Bateman springs to mind when she was at Marooch, also Nat from Maroochydore and Courtney W from SD have all been around that number a couple of years ago.
Good Stuff regardless ....

Young Ms Heal is definitely a great talent and had a blinder. 48 points in a 60 to 76 game is a massive effort. My question: Is this what we want to encourage our kids to do, individual play at the expense of the rest of the team? The winning teams, come the end of the year, will be those who spread the scoring across the team and shut down these players. Come U14 and above, end to end basketball will not work. That is why Ipswich and Logan are going to dominate, they have depth and play team ball well.

Your partially right about player development and may even be right about Logan and Ippy going to 'dominate' in u/12 local comp...be assured but Miss Heal's skill development has only just started and will extend way into Junior State and International and beyond. The kid is the real deal.

Remarks like these are so uncalled for & all it comes down to jealousy. I don't have a daughter in this age group but over the past few years my daughter has had digs like this thrown at her. Just because a player has a low scoring game doesn't mean their out of the league. For god sakes this player is 9 years old & like any human is going to have better game than others. Miss Heal is definately going to go a long way. The skill, determination & passion she has will show that.
People like you should think twice before posting rubbish like this. The players may not read this this but plenty of other people do & these comments always get back to the players & it's us parents that have to reasure them that they do a great job & it's ok to have off games sometimes & that as long as the try their best on the day thats all that matters - it's also not a one man team. It takes nine others to win or lose a game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Conversely if you want to come on here and talk up a 9 year kid be prepared to cop the criticism (fair of unfair) that comes with those claims.
This is a open anonymous forum where its open season, especially when kids are named specifically by enthusiastic parents. You may think that you are doing your kid a great service but this has the potential to do more harm than good especially on kids that are so young.

I have watched this develop with interest and feel compelled to comment.
This forum, i am sure, was developed so like minded people could discuss the sport they are passionate about. Whilst i dont like the poster's negative comments i think we do have to be careful of singling indiv players out for "over" praise.
I am sure given her pedigree shyla will excel but lets keep the focus on the fact that it is a team sport and if some indiv's attract their own accolades along the way then we teach them to do so humbly...something no doubt her parents are "on top of".
In the mean time lets ensure comments are kept positive. They are very young still and don't need to be reading this rubbish. Focus on the team and how well they are performing

Well done Greg,
At Ipswich on Saturday afternoon the best part of junior sport was evident. The under 12 girls game finished at 3.30 and for the next 5 or 6 hours girls from both teams were playing together on the spare courts and running around having a great time together. And yes Shyla was one of those who was enjoying herself the most. These girls have played together against each other for the last 2 years and have developed some great friendships, the same happens in the older years as they greet each other because they have played against each other for the last 5 or 6 years. This is what it is all about, the result of the "game" is quickly forgotten as friendship takes over. This happened last year as well. It is important to remember why we want our children to play team sport.Being part of a team is special and these young girls get to experience something together. It seems to be that us oldies need to take a reality check and remember that before we post on this site.

Toowoomba carving it up. They have soundly dispensed with northside & redlands. Given these 2 teams were closely beaten by g coast & caps respectively, i'm wondering why they didn't compete at grading tournamnt???
Beware the neers if they challenge for div1 at classics....

Dave Ipswich Coach
Especially you need a reality check. Have you looked at yourself coach lately. The way you scream at your team is unnecessary. I think vocal coaches are great. But the words you use and the tone you take is just absolutely disgusting. I'm sure you are not screaming like that because you enjoy watching your team participate in team sport. It is because you will do what it takes to win. Even if it is by 90 odd points. These young girls need development because they will soak in what is taught to them. They also need nurturing. Something you clearly know nothing about.

It is a shame that some associations don't challenge for premier league because they don't think they are good enough. The problem is that no one really knows in this age group because most of the players have never played before. A couple of years ago redlands started off in southern cup under 12 girls and went on to finish top 4 at the state championships in premier league. It can happen so teams had better watch out.

I have watched this little Toowoomba team......and that is what they are - a real "TEAM" who pass the ball, look for good options....they have been given fantastic foundations by a coach who obviously places great value on basics and being a "Team" player. Take a little time to watch them if they are playing at your venue. A pleasure to watch 9/10 year olds play this way....

Logan in for second and then a battle for the remaining two spots. Looking forward to a enjoyable yet competitive carnival round on neutral ground.

Or maybe the Coach has peaked the team too early in the Season. It is not a question whether the coach is better or not, but how well the team can work together without having to rely on the coach from the side line.

Honestly as a parent of a u14 year old player now... please parents don't get caught up in all the policital BS that goes goes with this sport.. Enjoy every game and respect every team for all there merits and faults. These are very young ladies with many years of experience ahead of them they can only improve and grow instead of all this preasure that is put upon them as 12 year olds. There is many more years ahead of the each to grow in the school and rep years to prove themselves in this sport. Well it is Rep and obviously we all want to win, no matter the coach or club.....BUT.....lets not do this at the expense of taking away the enjoyment of the sport for these 9 & 10 year old kids. For this age group we need to encourage them to play hard without being too hard on them - a tricky ask sometimes as a previous coach of this age group......

Our family was in under 12's in 08 and 09; and there is a HUGE difference at the under 14 level. Under 12 is competitive, yes, and great when your kid does well and play as a team...but be prepared, u/14 as a bottom age player is a total new ball game. Enjoy the under 12 comp, our daughter learnt heaps, made some great friends from all different clubs at the classics....but even at the top in under 12's at the end of the season; you pretty much start again at the bottom and work your way up in u/14. I'm guessing its like that all the way through.

Most associations have the rule of coaches can't coach their own kids. Can work against other team mates but most of all works against the son/daughter themselves.
As a coach I would err on the side of disadvantaging my boys when I was coaching them because I was self conscious about it. If they deserved to be starting five then they were in but they might not get the minutes they rightly deserved or if I needed to get a bench player's minutes up my boy was the one subbed. If the boys were getting out of hand at training, it was my boy who copped the brunt of it...
I was rather level handed about it all but it just erred on the side of disadvantage for my boys which was a little bit frustrating for them but they understood.
I have awesome sons :-)

It not only applies to losing teams but also to winning ones. I witnessed Spartans ignore the SW girls huddle and go off and do there little 'Hoorah' all by themselves... It is no wonder that people form opinions against an association or team.. Children need to be encouraged to respect not only the game but one another. There was ample time after the game to go off and do 'the team comradery' once the two teams have come together to well wish one another after a well played game.

Had a similar experience over the carnival round where one kid in the other team would not shake hands with our girls. I don't blame the coach, more to do with the kids parents. Have had the same from a kid in our team who would not do the right thing when all the rest were well mannered and showed good sportsmanship. They are always instructed to shake hands, thank the refs and the bench win or loose yet the odd one just has a bad attitudes. What goes around comes around and those kids never make it far. Best focus on and praise all those good kids who do the right thing.

Ipswich on top..... deservedly so. Noticeable on the tournament round that some teams became more "in reach" of them (relatively speaking of course)
Logan breathing down their necks. First round saw a 5 pt loss to Ipswich though a little birdy told me Logan had the upper hand until they ran into foul trouble in the final 4 mins of the game. Logan also showed alot of depth with it's bench on the tournament weekend and still maintained convincing wins
Maroochydore... the dark horse. Still daylight between them and the top two but if their coach can continue working & developing them over the break, we may be in for a surprise at start of second round.
Seahawks.... still a dangerous team. Yes they are a little one dimensional scoring wise but they do have another couple of excellent little players in there and if coach can turn some of them into scorers as well, defences will have to start being honest.

Spartans have had some close games. As they get better look for their bigs to start firing. They may be another dark horse.
Brisbane has nailed a couple of upsets now. Or have they? Maybe they haven't been playing to full potential in other games. Whatever is the case, they have proven to have steely nerve and ability to close in the tight ones.
Pirates started grading well but have gone into the wilderness a bit since. Look for them to bounce back to old form at some time.
Gold Coast can appreciate the experience of playing prem b ball. I think they have a few bottom agers who will take what they have experienced this year and apply it to next year. They may even find themselves challenged for div 1 at classics.

They look every bit as good as some Div 1 teams - great basics and play as a team. Even tho they were winning by a considerable amount, they weren't "smart" or disrespectful to their opposition and continued to play hard - as it should be in rep. Credit to their coach and their families. Maybe Div 1 for Classics girls? You are a great team!! Keep enjoying the game and working hard.

As coach of the U/12 Toowoomba girls, I thought now might be a good idea to clear up some of these assumptions floating around.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing! I coached these girls last year, where we were placed 4th in Div 2. Out of my 9 players from last year, 5 were top age and went up. We don't have the luxury up here of holding trials....my first session I had a grand total of 5 turn up. I poached the remaining 3 players from my daughters netball team (which I also coach). So armed with only 8 players, 3 of which had never played basketball, we began our season. I thought the girls were starting to look good early on, but hesitated in going to grading, thinking about the girls confidence and the long season of travelling ahead. I am a VERY competitive person, but there is a very fine line we walk as coaches in nurturing these kids and fostering a love of their chosen sport. I tried at the end of the first round to bump up to Div 1...but had to stay put. We have sent in our nomination to be a wildcard for div 1 at Classics. So.....for us this has never been about just wanting to flog everyone in Div 2, we have worked hard on developing our basics and teamwork, and we are pushing ourselves in preparation for the challenge ahead at classics. We are looking forward to stepping up to that next level.
I really appreciate the lovely comments people have posted on here about the girls, I am very of proud of how far they have developed in such a short time and their sense of sportsmanship. Its lovely for people to notice!

At u12's it is ensuring that we get the individual skills in place and the team concepts. We have a responsibility to these girls to start them on their way through their b'ball careers with the basics. Like I tell my girls... We get these things in place then it's a matter of running what we have learnt against the other teams. If that gets us the win.... great. If not, then no need to stress.

I don't think it is that simple. There are rules around being in Premier League. I thought, you have to have teams at every level to be eligible to enter it!! Secondly, I'm sure the distance factor for Toowoomba may hinder the number of palyers whose parents are willing to commit. I commend Rebecca for the hard work she has put in and the results simply say they have worked harder than others. Shame the wildcard rule was changed a few years back to stop the mid season cross over. I'm sure Rebecca would have made that move for her girls if it was available. Hope to see you at classics.

Toowoomba is a small association....we usually scratch around to get enough kids just to nominate one team for each division and I'd estimate 80% of kids playing club play rep in some age divisions. The travelling (cost & time) for Toowoomba is a huge committment (I'm not complaining, we love being part of this competition, it is just impossible for some families to resource).
My children have been part of three teams over the years who have tried for Div 1 but didn't make it - our U/16G team last season made Div 1 and while they didn't win many games, we were very proud of them as an association - they trialed again this season but didn't make it......anyway I believe to nominate for Div 1, a team is required to be nominated in each age division - this year we were unable to field a team in U/18G.

Watched a RB player be double teamed throughout most of the game on Sat.....didn't think this was allowed in U/12 when a player is off the ball........I'm not from either association, just have never noticed a player so obviously constantly double teamed as this girl....didn't seem to hinder her too much tho and they regularly found the "spare" player and came away with the win

She was only double teamed on the inbounds to try limit her getting the ball. No rule against that. It was a great game and yes RB did work well to find the open player. I have had a player of mine double teamed full court and I personally had drama prvided they did not play a zone. End of the day, there should be an open player to feed if they can see the opportunity.

Why are you bad-mouthing a coach who gives up his time & has done a great job for Ipswich the last couple of seasons? 2 great teams that seemed destined to meet in the finals, where only 1 can win. It'll come down to who delivers on the day.

I agree.... All coaches have to be commended for the time & dedication they give to the sport for absolutely no remuneration.
These 2 teams are both great in their own way. Lets put down the slings and arrows and let the battle occur on the court. It is such an arm wrestle between them and one team only has to blink for the other to capitalise.
I have gone back over the stats of the 3 encounters so far and am amazed at the low scoring from 1 qtr to the next. The defensive pressure both teams bring each other is enormous for their age. And the ability for both team's guards to bring the ball up under that pressure is equally impressive.
It's gunna be a cracker if both teams win through

They have put in a 40pt turnaround against Ipswich from first half of season and then a 35+ pt turnaround against my girls on the weekend.
Considering they train with half a court since the floods, I think that is amazing.

I spoke briefly with you at tournament round and can only say that I look fwd to having you guys in div 1 at classics should you win through. I was very impressed. Well done girls

Little birdy told me it was a very close game between Ipswich & R/Bay on Saturday, final result does not reflect game - Maybe it won't be a Ipswich or Logan grand final - Don't count your chickens before they hatch!!!!! Lots of time to train harder.

It is great to see the teams improving so much as we near the end of the season and classics approach. Wel done to all the coaches, assistants and kids for working so hard to match it at the top. Ipswich and Logan have Sea Hawks, Spartans and Maroochy close on their heals. Best to all come finals and looking forward to seeing some close games at classics. Anyone know which of the Central & North sides that are looking good?
Cheers,

Rocky & Gladstone looked the goods in central but don't know if they can get same results coming into Classics (results under our results on BQ website)
Townsville ripping it up in Nth Qld.... daylight between them & the rest..... are they at the same standard as down here?
Gotta say I have been eyeing Seahawks results...... getting closer :-)
Easiest thing to know in defending Seahawks..... shut Shyla down
Hardest thing in defending Seahawks..... shutting Shyla down :-)

Containing Shyla Heal is definitely the key and raises some amusing situations. Was at a BQJBC meeting recently where the embarrassed Maroochydore coaching director (herself an accomplished ex Opals assistant) had been directed by the U/12 girls coach to get official ruling on whether or not he could run a double team on Shyla for the entire game whether she had the ball or not.
Her explanation that this did not constitute proper man to man defence wasnt understood and her advice that if she were the opposition coach she would simply stand Shyla in 1 corner with the two players marking her and find the open player wasnt understood either.???
Gave rise to some pretty funny banter and laughter amongst the coaches and referees present but the poor lady took it graciously and went away comfortable that she had at least responded to the request of an association volunteer coach, with at least her coaching integrity and reputation intact.
Great for basketball when players can instigate such imaginative thinking in opposition coaches, much like Lauren Jackson did at Albury as an U/12 and U/14 player. Real solution of course is to teach the youngsters on ball and containment defensive principles and watch their defensive abilities grow in unison with the extraordinary offensive abilities of gifted players.

I don't appreciate this comment. If you want to make excuses, that's fine, but bear in mind my girls too played a game Saturday, then jumped in the car and travelled two and a half hours Sunday to play a team that has had the Div 1 experience all season....and we played the full game with only 7 players. We were shell shocked for almost the whole first half.....the girls haven't experienced that kind of intensity. We are realistic enough to know that we played the bottom team, but we are grateful to have earned the chance to experience Div 1. We have reached our limitations in Div 2, all the other teams have noticeably improved, yet I feel we are at a standstill and not moving forward. Regardless of our outcomes at Classics, we are looking forward to the challenge of playing the best teams in the state, and improving ourselves by playing a higher standard. I am proud that my girls have achieved what they have thus far - don't take that away from these 10 and 11 year old kids with such negative comments. Luck has got nothing to do with it, we have put in the hard work, and the girls will do the best they can.

No sour grapes here, Gold Coast has had the benefit of a full season and div 1 and the beneift of that is enomorous. Now they can take that back to Div 2 at classics and give that a good crack. I do wish Toowoomba a lot of luck as they are going to need every bit of that luck.

I am not from the Gold Coast but I believe that it was a win win for Gold Coast as I have been in the exact position before. You win challenge and you stay in DIV 1 and you know what you are going to get. You lose you go to DIV 2 and more then likely you will be one of the top teams and have a very good chance of winning DIV 2. You then finish the season with some wins and some really great positives for the girls for next season. Also from what I have seen of Toowoomba is they are a big team not very mobile, have two great guards, but lets be honesty here DIV 1 has some great guards that will do a very good job on them both. I don't think they will challenge the top teams but should be able to compete with Brisbane and Spartans. Will be very interesting to see.

Yep I think you are right, Gold Coast will do well in Div 2; Toowoomba will have to get used to the pace of div 1 quickly and will come up against some very tough competition, but should come away with a few wins if they are able to play their game. By reading their coaches comments they are obviously keen to play in a comp where they will be challenged and that it is considered an achievement to play Div 1 (which it is), no matter their final ladder position at Classics. Nice to see that making Div 1 rather than winning Div 2 being the focus is alive and well. Wishing you luck Toowoomba.

I would like to congatulate the Toowoomba team for making it to the finals and for grading to Div 1. Whilst our girls got beaten by this team by a considerable margin through out the season you couldn't ask to play a nicer team. They are always humble and show great sportsmanship. They will always stop and help a player up off the court and will always respect the other player. I think a lot of players and coaches could learn a lot from this team. All members from this team (players, coach and manager) have a fantastic attitude towards the sport and this shows on the court with the fantastic team work and the great wins. Thankyou for being such a gret team to play against and good luck for finals and your new challenges in Div !.

Thats a terrible grab at the underdog tag. Ipswich will come out all guns blazing and dont think for one minute logan coach wont have team thinking they are favourites nor underdogs here. Both teams are even split. Look at for against all up for year. Close isnt it? Only three points seperate them in their two games head to head. Noone can enter game thinking they are favorites or underdogs. Its going to be who brings the best game on the day.

WOW!!! That game had everything!! What a final.
The largest margin was 4pts.
Logan hitting the winner with 3" remaining. Joy for them. Heartbreak for Ipswich who played so well. Neither team deserved the loss but as they say, there can be only 1 winner.
Congrats Logan. You have been the benchmark all year long

My child played at another club before going to SD. She played in a Div 1 side but came to SD and has played in a Div 2 since. Her skills and improved out of sight and she is loving it there. So although not playing in a Div 1 side, best decision we made for her.
We made the choice as parents to offer our child the opportunity to develop her skills, play a better club competion and have more opportunites and SD offered this. Their junior program is great and their coaching put alot of effort into them and hence the results (not always)
Clubs losing kids to SD need to look at why. But pouching under 12's....little silly dont you think

Maybe they were to good for QBL. They did win both last three years they stayed. Pretty sure reason they left though was they were trying to get the southern part of QBL Queensland some financial support from northerners and considered they were let down by some. Actually that was it. Had enough of BQ catering to northern and central clubs while majority of development load was done in the south.
That said, why are you worrying about what they are doing in seniors in a junior forum. Pretty sure BQ like the near on $100,000 they put into the BQ coffers each year though. How much does your club contribute.
Without the Bullets in town the Brisbane Spartans are fast being recognised as Brisbanes main team. Lucky someone is having a go.
