Computer Not Recognising Handycam

Hoping you computer geniuses can help me out.

Had a firewire card installed yesterday and bought a firewire cable for it. Plugged it in to my DV Handycam and the computer didn't recognise it at all.

Here's what is in play.

Sony DCR-HC15E MiniDV Handycam
VIA OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394 Host Controller
Firewire cable with firewire card supplied.
Windows Vista

When I did it with USB it said the camera was not compatible with Vista which is why I went and got a firewire card installed.

Anyone with any suggestions at all so I can get my recorded footage on my computer?

mmm... In my experience with Handicams, Firewire and XP it's been a fairly simple plug in & off you go process.. Is there any software with the Handicam you need to install first? Or given that you're running vista, does Sony have any updated software on their website that'll support it?
